Vikings d-line will spend most of its day in the Bears backfield & cause a turnover or two early in the game. This game is the perfect Cutler Rorschach Test. If you loved him before, you'll point to the efficiency of the offense when Cutler has increased time in the pocket. If you hated him before, you'll point to the unforced mistakes and occasional inaccuracy.

The obvious real reason the Bears won was because they ran the ball 28 times and threw it only 31 times. This kind of balance is a winning formula in the NFL, as evidenced by the number of rushing attempts winning teams usually average.

If you take out the garbage drives that started in the 4th quarter, the numbers are 20 rushes, 29 passes (with one sack, so an exact 40-60 run pass ratio in plays called). Winning teams usually have "balance" because, like the Bears tonight, they run the ball a bunch at the end to run out the clock.

That was a lot of fun last night. Donovan McNabb proved once again that he's bad at football for a second straight year. It only seemed fitting that McNabb got nailed in the endzone for a safety. Although McNabb's game wasn't all that bad statistically, the Laurence Holmes-looking Les Frazier may soon have no choice but to see what he has with #1 pick Christian Ponder, who made his NFL debut in the 4th quarter last night with the game pretty much out of reach.

A few days before the game, there were once again calls for the Bears to end the Devin Hester experiment at wide receiver. This was before Hester caught the game's first TD pass from Jay Cutler and before he added a 98 yard kickoff return for I believe his 12th career return score in the 39-10 rout on NBC's "Sunday Night Football". He left the game with a chest injury, but it's not believed serious.
