The interface is very similar to iTunes so if you use iTunes, you'll have no problem with this.
No virus, no spyware, no problem.
It magically imports your iTunes library too, so there really is no reason to use it anymore.
You don't need Spotify Premium.
At first, I found myself asking "how is this legal?", but like Pandora, you're just streaming, not downloading.
And YOU get to pick the songs, unlike Pandora.

I don't believe so, but I haven't looked into it either.
I know that there is a Spotify app for Droid (and probably iPhone), but I have no use for that,
so I really can't help but my friend uses it all the time on his phone when he's driving around or whatever.
I think it takes up a lot of battery juice though.
I just use it at home at my desk.

Here's my deal.
When my daughter was about to be born, I decided to import my cd collection, (over 1200) onto an external hard drive
and store the physical cds so they wouldn't get destroyed and to save room. My cd tower was massive. So I have my entire
collection at my fingertips on iTunes. The process took a while, but it was worth it. I'd rather make a compilation playlist or mix cd
than have a program "suggest" stuff. I didn't really care much for pandora for that reason.
the cool thing about Spotify is that you can connect it to your Facebook account, and see what your friends are listening to
and vice versa. You can also send songs to a FB friend's inbox to share it.
But here's the best thing about Spotify.
If I don't have 12.99 or whatever to get the new Wilco record, I don't have to settle for 30 seconds on itunes.
the whole record is there. Or if I want to listen to Van Halen II, it's right there.

If you get the premium service you can access the tracks you stream in an offline mode on your computer and mobile. Also, one other nice thing about the program is you can create and share your own playlists and play those of others with sites like this: http://sharemyplaylists.com/

You make that sound like it's a bad thing.
I used to have a bunch of 80's shit on cassette that I just never got around to buying on CD,
stuff like INXS, Violent Femmes, The Cult, Fishbone, etc. It's all there on Spot. And it's free.
Not sure why anyone would have a problem with that.

Or if you want to check out/explore an entire album without buying it. I would never buy a Ryan Adams album, but it was released a week ago and I can listen to the entire thing as much as I want to. If there was a service like this before, I was unaware.

Ryan Adams is very prolific, so a lot of his stuff can be hit or miss, kinda like Guided by Voices, but i'm kinda surprised
as a fellow Wilco fan that you would "never" buy one his records. But it's cool. with spotify, you don't have to.

Seems like it would be easy enough to record your wav out feed with all other wav out feeds disabled in order to make your own MP3s off this service if you can honestly choose the songs you want to hear. I am guessing for starters that the sound quality probably isn't the greatest (but still probably passable if people are using this) and I am also guessing I'm not the first to think of that, so how are they getting around that? I'll hang up and listen for your answer.

Well I downloaded it, and it is nice that you can just type in the song and hear it. I would like a little bit of the Pandora type suggesting though if I don't want to list every song I want to hear. But this is pretty cool. And very deep collection.

Stone Cold by Rainbow is there (Pandora always suggests that one for me and nobody has ever heard of it... probably for decent reason.)

I probably phrased it wrong... I never thought that I would have listened to one of his records, for whatever reason, probably because his name is so close to Bryan Adams that it always scared me a little. But what I listened to yesterday was pretty good...
