So, if you're not downloading , can you actually load these tunes onto your ipod and listen to them?
Definitely not.
Last.FM and Pandora both cultivate playlists based on what you listen to...and Last.FM has an excellent system of using that info to suggest new songs / bands you might want to try. It "listens" to the music I play via my iPod / iTunes, Winamp, and Last.FM's music streaming service itself to then add new songs and bands from those same and similar genres. Would I be losing this feature?
I don't know why I'd use Spotify to pick songs to listen to when I just use my iPod or Winamp to do that?
Here's my deal.
When my daughter was about to be born, I decided to import my cd collection, (over 1200) onto an external hard drive
and store the physical cds so they wouldn't get destroyed and to save room. My cd tower was massive. So I have my entire
collection at my fingertips on iTunes. The process took a while, but it was worth it. I'd rather make a compilation playlist or mix cd
than have a program "suggest" stuff. I didn't really care much for pandora for that reason.
the cool thing about Spotify is that you can connect it to your Facebook account, and see what your friends are listening to
and vice versa. You can also send songs to a FB friend's inbox to share it.
But here's the best thing about Spotify.
If I don't have 12.99 or whatever to get the new Wilco record, I don't have to settle for 30 seconds on itunes.
the whole record is there. Or if I want to listen to Van Halen II, it's right there.
