looks like a pretty damn serious issue.

I would think that the first issue would be: Did he void his warranty but puttin' all those after-market fixins on that little deathcab that he was bragging about.

That's a very good question...

It is. It's a great way to have an accident.

I think you are taking the right approach. Get a service manager at the dealer to view it. A tech isn't going to be able to do much. If the service manager won't do anything, get someone from VW America on the phone. If all else fails, call Dave Savini.

Have you looked into your warranty and what's covered?

Video viewed...refreshed a few times...not sure that helped...

...wonder if the transmission is anything like mine...I have an 07 Beetle and I've had it do something similar but it's not always the same gear and it seems to be random, as in it will be in the gear fine and then all of a sudden want to rev and then a second later get back into gear...has happened maybe 5 times...

...good luck.

Have you checked the MkVI forums at VWvortex to see if anyone else has had the same issue?

This is not the plea for help I was expecting.
I was anticipating some kind of request for a qualified orthodontist.

That's weird. Why call a mult an idiot if you can just delete him?

I guarantee I was the one being called an idiot.

I PM'd bigfan to delete the last few topics I've made, that was his response.

See you knew the response before asking.

I didn't. Based on Cairo's suggestion, I thought you'd actually delete the topics, or I wouldn't have PM'd you. I was wrong. It happens once or twice a month.

girls I know it usually happens once a month, just for a few days though.

I have a Corolla 2009, the ones with the "unintended acceleration" issue that Toyota claimed doesnt actually happen. While I never had the acceleration problem, I did have a separate problem on occasion when I would deaccelerate then try to accelerate again only to idle for a second or two. Pretty scary when this happens trying to get onto a highway. Same thing, Toyota couldnt reproduce it. After doing a little research, I found a few people had the same issue. They suggested to change out my Johnson Rod.
