Everybody is right in this thread. They both suck, they're both better with someone else, Mulligan is too loud and Hanley is so not funny. Yes they shouldn't be on the radio and yes they're better than what preceded them. Did anyone catch Hanley's line this morning about throwing up from the press box food at Purdue? He stepped all over Dinardo's anecdote. It's not even train-wreck radio, it's just bad. It's a sad state of affairs when I'm forced to switch over to M&M.

I heard that. Dinardo was trying to say that he got sick before games... It was a great story, trying to state the pressure and intensity of coaching. Hanley embarrassed himself with the joke, and Dinardo didn't say shit so you could sense the eye roll.

Unfunny moment #1 of Friday for Hanley.

When discussing Terry Francona's nickname of Tito, which he was named after his dad. Hanley jumps in w/ his unfunny comment of, "So umm is his dad Luis Tiant?"

He is sooo unfunny. When will the people at the Score realize that none of you assholes are funny. That is from Hanley to Boers to Bernstein and whomever fakes a giggle when they make a wisecrack.

I thought thats what he said...Classic Hanley.

Did you catch the story about the guy at the bar telling Hanley to get out of his seat?

Hanley came off terrible in that story

morning talk yields the worst in humor typically. i think they think people are up so early, they'll laugh at anything.

here's my rant about that, quoted for truth, inspired by kid's gif a few posts up:

"It fucking sucks, it sucking fucks, it fucking blows, it's a piece of shit...and i don't like it."

Really good interview.

At least from Pearlman's point of view.

Mully and Hanley were their usual dipshitty selves.

I'm waiting to re-hear the interview on podcast. Something about how Pearlman was myth-busting with his book and his response referencing myth making. In the middle of a question to Pearlman (as follow up?) they went to break and coming back it was all around awkward. Using Ditka as a reference illustrates/reinforces the parochial aspects of local media coverage.

Clicked on M&H this morning talking about some of the Cubs prospects Boston may want in return for Theo Epstein. Then Hanley chimes in with, "Sometimes you feel like McNutt and sometimes you don't."

Radio immediately off.

That was written on a piece of paper under the header "MUST READ". It was also circled and underlined TWICE. After saying it, a check mark was placed next to it and as well as a smiley face...

i think part of the problem is that Mully makes Hanley look even worse by laughing at things that aren't even really jokes

they had Matt Bowen on a few minutes ago and while they were introducing him Hanley said something about how even though its early in the morning he should do an in-studio with him sometime. i really didn't think Hanley intended it to be a joke but Mully came in with a booming laugh....so then you think ok, that was a terrible joke

This brings up something I've regrettably forgotten to bitch about: Mulli's irritating fucking laugh. He even manages to yell his fucking laugh.

"HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-schhhhhhh!"

Every time Hanley or a guest makes some lame ass joke, this turd unleashes this phony-ass laugh.

This guy is just the cutting edge of annoyance. He's a fucking T-1000 of shitty show-hosting.

ETA: christ, look at my avatar. You can just imagine that cock-breath irritating his audience with that awful yell-laugh. God, is that man abominable.

The proper joke in that scenario was that the Boston execs were saying "gimme that, that, McNutt; gimme that, gimme that, gimme McNutt."

Yeah thats the thing. There's always a really simple funny joke there that Hanley completely obliterates with a Hanley Job.

Ivan, I completely agree. He was like a 3 year old on xmas eve trying to sleep last night thinking about the joke.

Kid, you should have called in and complained.

Someone should

Hanley: *Awful Joke*

Mully: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH....ok we go to The Original Kid Cairo in the loop.

OKC: I have a question for Brian

Hanley: Whats up there Cairo, are you calling from Egypt?

Mully: HAHAHHAHAHHAH

OKC: Stop it

Hanley: Stop what Cairo? The flow of the Nile?

Mully: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHHAH

OKC: Could you stop with the mind numbingly terrible jokes?

Mully + Hanley: *Dead silence*

Actual "humor" from a few days ago...I still remember it because it changed me.

Mully- "Oh man, here's a good one from an emailer, he says 'Cutler was yelling at Martz because the play that was sent down said '7 step drop and your girlfriend can't dance!"

Hanley "AHAHAHaHAHAH, oh man, yeah...."

Mully "Oh, that was beautiful, eheheheheheheh"

And Biggs came on, more bad jokes from bother sides and more fake laughter.

From the above I'm convinced that there is no God and Jesus isn't coming back anytime soon.

You know I wasn't talking about you yesterday when I mentioned creativity. There were some other specific posters from that thread I had in mind.

I just didn't like your "whine" comment.

Much of 90s primetime TV was bad. I've thankfully blocked a lot of of that decade out.

I was talking to someone the other day about how dated Friends is.

I watched it. It was kinda funny.

Its death now.

Seinfeld: Hasnt lost a bit...better with age if anything.

I think Friends revolved too much around fads at the time. and Schwimmer is just throw the tv out the window annoying.

Someguy is right, they lived in palace's and most of the time at least one of em was out of work.

This thread cracked me up. So many truths, well done folks.

I think Mully can be salvaged if the pairing was right. As for Hanley, the person in his life who first told him he was funny has done a grave disservice to us all. I'd say his sense of humor is currently the worst thing in Chicago broadcasting. I can't put into words how bad I think it is.

I think Mully can be salvaged for organs, but given his age and the pictures of him the Score makes available, I think even that much is dubious.
