Right. And that's a London game. Taking a home game from the Bucs so that gives us an advantage. I've seen the London games over the years. Shitty field and we're used to that.

the nfc was down last year. and tampa had 10 wins and didn't make it in. 10 wins doesn't guarantee anything.

The 1-2 simply puts next week as a must win, just as GB and NO in games 2-3 made Atl a must win. This is a winnable game against an improving team but still a team they should comfortably beat at home next Sunday.

I envision 4-3 at the break and a good record afterwards.

Not disagreeing on the possible record, but not int he game v the best teams, puts you int he very middle of the pack of teams, with the arrow pointing down. Thats the concern.

I agree. I feel ok on the micro level. On the macro level you can turn those alarms on full blast and that was true even last year.

Macro level they have critical needs at LB, S, DL, CB, WR, OL and TE. Addressing those critical areas would only bring in talent and not add to depth.

I still see the 8-8 team I saw in the preseason. One good offensive player usually won't get you in the playoffs.

I still feel this team's final record will include a "9". Unfortunately, I have no idea which column that nine will appear.

My bad. Should have said consistently good. Cutler is terrible as often as he is good. Not a great quality for a starting QB.

So you see the Bears losing more games than winning after their by week.

Just so you are sure of this; they play the entire AFC West, Seattle, and the Vikings for 6 of those games. @Philly and at home against the Lions might be tougher, @GB may be an easy W because the Packers likely have the #1 seed wrapped up by then and may not play their starters for the full game.

I'm about 99% sure they will beat Denver. Not sure about the rest of the games. Depends on which Cutler shows up.

My thoughts on the Lions seem to have some validity as well FarveFan.

i still don't see the bears beating a good team, they won a close game on a neutral field against a bad team who had it's 3rd string back play pretty much the whole game and the qb threw 4 ints

Maybe. I'm standing by what I said about them. I had yesterday as a toss up game, and it basically was. I still expect 10 wins

That "bad team" will be in the playoff hunt at the end of the year, just as they were last year. That was a good win against a conference opponent. The Bears dominated 3/4 of the game and let off the pedal. This was forseeable given the odd travel schedule.

The Bears have now held a comfortable lead for the last 8 quarters of football. They have run the ball well for the last 4 weeks. They have let up 10 sacks in the last 5 games.

I don't think this is a championship level team but it sure as shit is a playoff caliber team.

Now they just have to go 6-3 for me to be right.

Dolphin and I were trying to explain this to you people. The Bears schedule, the bad NFC West and the fact that the NFC East teams are gonna beat up on each other means the Bears make the playoffs. None of you people understood this when they were 2-3. You all had no vision or understanding of the current state of the NFC. Now the Bears have the tie breaker over the NFC South wild card condenders, the Bucs and the Falcons. That is HUGE!!!

I don't know if many of you are aware of this, but if the season ended today the Bears and Lions would be the wild card teams.

Uh...no. The 2011 Bears are...the 2010 Bears.

No need to reach for any other analogy. We're better than that garbage Seahawks team of last year. Hell, we murdered that team in the playoffs.

It would really be difficult to envision the Bears not making the playoffs at this point.

L, Win, Win, Win to start that "really tough stretch"

They've surprised me. What I like is if one part of the team isn't having a good day another part steps up like yesterday with offense not doing squat the defense really stepped up.

As the voice of calm in the storm all year, I'd like to tell everyone to calm down. There are a lot of winnable games out there. The Bears still have a 2 game lead on Atlanta for the last playoff spot. Dallas and the Giants will probably knock each other enough that only one makes the playoffs.

Winning 3 out of 6 should get them in. They own most of the tie breakers.

I hope people are prepared when the Bears lose to the Broncos next Sunday. There is no way the Bears beat Tebow and Co.

Good call.

But does anyone really care? This team wasn't going to do shit if they did make the playoffs.

Score is reporting that Martz might not be back next year. Another Lovie coach fired but the head coach keeps his job? Funny how this plays out every single year.
