The rule of thumb is that a GM gets two field manager hires. Does the President then get two or more GM hires?

A lousy year for a "Theo" team is 86 wins. So I doubt he will need more than one hire.

10 years to win a World Series or he's an epic failure.

I think he's still seen as a Gm. Its his operation. Its basically new titles for Gm and assistant Gm.

I mean if he hasnt seen solid improvement after 5 years, I think he'd be gone.

McPhail got what 9 years? and the Commitiment to winning wasnt even prevalant with ownership.

That brings up a good question, are his duties going to be different as a team president? drinky was on the air and couldn't figure out a reason why this might not work. One obvious possibility is the Peter principal.

Well according to the accurate Yahoo questions and more specifically a baseball mind named Leopold Butters Scotch

It sounds right...

The "GM of a team typically controls player transactions and bears the primary responsibility on behalf of the ball club during contract discussions with players."
The President of Baseball Operations oversees the GM and his decisions as well as anything else that would be involved in improving the franchise.

The GM makes the trades, contract negotiation, and
acquisitions, but the President could actually "veto" those things, he has the final say, more influence.
If they had a rank it would be:
1. Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
2. President, Baseball Operations
3. General Manager
4. Assistant General Manager

So Theo gets to do part of the business side.

Sing it...

His name is Theo, and he's manicured and tanned
He'll take us further than that dude, Dusty can
And when he wins it all they'll be dancing in the stands
Oh Theo, Theo, take us to the promised land

If Speegs does this parody, remember you heard it here first!!!
