Then let's just declare Degenerate Dave's Psyche the winner.

DDP wins $420 for the Goals Over 5.5, $520 for the power play goal, and $390 and some change for the Carpenter adjusted line for a total of $1,330.48

BlackCastle wins $406.25 for the Toronto win, and $477 for the under in the baseball game for a total of $883.52.

Sorry BlackCastle, you've lost another round. Please vote off one player by Friday at 7pm. You will have until 9pm on Friday to play any hidden idols. If you fail to vote, you'll get a strike.

The next challenge will be up within the hour.

Challenge #5 -- Individual Aggregate Challenge!

Each of you need to submit an entry for this challenge. The deadline is 11AM on Sunday, but you'll be able to earn some bonus points if you submit an entry earlier.

Please pick eight of the following contests against the line. For those not used to line betting, consider a game that would be listed as "Lombard +5 at Crystal Lake." For purposes of determining the outcome against the line, you would add five points to Lombard's final score. So if the game ended Lombard 20, Crystal Lake 24, you would add the five points and it would be Lombard 25, Crystal Lake 24. That means Lombard wins against the spread. If the game finished Lombard 20, Crystal Lake 30, then the five points wouldn't be enough and Crystal Lake would win.

Here are your NFL lines:
Houston +3 at Tennessee
Chicago -1 "at" Tampa Bay
Atlanta +3.5 at Detroit
Denver +2 at Miami
Washington +3 at Carolina
Seattle +3 at Cleveland
San Diego -2 at New York Jets
Kansas City +4 at Oakland
Pittsburgh -4 at Arizona
St. Louis +14 at Dallas
Green Bay -8.5 at Minnesota
Indianapolis +14.5 at New Orleans

You win 10 points per correct pick against the line. You will win 5 points for any push (tie.) You cannot pick both sides of a line, and you cannot pick the same team in multiple slots.

Ah, but wait, it can't be that easy. Each of your eight picks should be assigned to one of eight slots. These slots have bonuses associated with them. Note, the 10 points you win for the pick is in no way affected by anything the slot mentions. The slot rules only apply to the bonus.

Slot A - Adjust the line 6.5 points in your direction. Win 4 bonus points for a win, 2 for a push.
Slot B - Adjust the line 3.5 points in your direction. Win 7 bonus points for a win, 4 for a push.
Slot C - Adjust the line 4.5 points against your side. Win 11 bonus points for a win, 7 for a push.
Slot D - Win one bonus point for each other player on your team to match your pick for Slot D
Slot E - Win three bonus points for each player on your team to not include this team in any of their 8 picks.
Slot F - If the game finishes within 4 points of the line, gain 15 bonus points.
Slot G - Gain 1 point for each half point your team beats the line by. If they don't beat the line, you'll get zero bonus points.
Slot H - Two options: Pick the Bears and earn 6.5 bonus points. Pick any other team and if they score more than the Bears, earn 9 bonus points.

Team DDP, you've earned the advantage. Each individual should choose one of the following and submit with their entry. If you are eligible for an advantage and do not pick one with your entry, you will have four points deducted from your score:
* Take the points - 2 point bonus, no strings attached.
* Team Not Chosen - declare a team that you think nobody on BC will submit among any of their slots. If nobody submits that team, get 5 bonus points.
* Four On The Floor - If you and exactly three others on your team choose this option, you'll get 6 bonus points. If you choose this and more or less than three others do, you'll lose a point.

There will be no carryover advantage to the next challenge. If you do not submit an entry this challenge you will get a strike. Team winners will be determined by the average score of players on that team submitting entries.

To make this even more interesting, there's an immunity idol up for grabs. If you finish in the top 7 overall in this contest, you'll get entries into the immunity idol sweepstakes. The top finisher gets 10 entries, 2nd place gets 8, 3rd gets 6, 4th gets 4, 5th gets 3, 6th gets 2, and 7th gets 1. If there are ties, those entries will be added up and evenly distributed amongst the tied folks. I will post the final outcome along with the winning team and the immunity idol shares Sunday night. I will use random.org to determine the winning sweepstakes number and I will notify the winner via PM that they have won the immunity idol.

Finally, for bonus points, submit your entry by 11 on Saturday and you can earn a bonus point for each game of the following that you pick correctly (these games will be played on Saturday.) Note that these bonus points are only awarded if you do not send in a subsequent entry -- bonus points only apply to the first entry sent. If you pick the wrong team, there will be no penalty. Other than the usual shame in picking the wrong team.
MLB - Cardinals vs Rangers
NCAA - Illinois vs Purdue
NCAA - Georgia Tech vs Miami (FL)
NCAA - Wisconsin vs Michigan State
NHL - Minnesota vs Vancouver
NHL - Colorado vs Chicago
NHL - New Jersey vs Pittsburgh

And superfinally, there will be no tiebreaker for this, because there is no way this ends in a tie. If it does, you both get immunity. But there will likely be a losing team, and they will need to vote someone off.

I'll read the votes.

Everyone who voted voted for Chilli Palmer. There were a couple of non-votes. I would prepare for the merge happening on Sunday assuming I don't get entries from some of the non-voters. The highest score will have standard challenge immunity in that scenario. You will also not be locked into your Sunday picks and there will be no negative penalty for any missed Four On The Floor. You can send updated Sunday picks until 11:00 Sunday.

Picks are up here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AvIBEU8ruyXXdHBSVGNjVml3cmpiRzRoY2FIUDRwT3c&output=html

We had 9 entries, so a bunch more strikes and some people are already out of the game -- I'll get this all sorted out today. :)

OK, so due to missing votes and/or missing entries the following actions have occurred:
* Hank Scorpio and Northside Dan have been eliminated.
* mcbrides and OKC are up to 2 strikes and will be eliminated after this contest if they do not vote
* Panther picked up a strike.

We are merged as one team now. We are also down to 12, so everyone is guaranteed at least a spot on the jury. If people are eliminated due to strikes, we'll go with less than nine on the jury.

My bad!!! You are certainly not eliminated! It was RPB who didn't put in an entry and got a strike. So 2 strikes for Northside Dan and 1 for RPB.

I updated the spreadsheet. According to my calculations, I have it:

IMU: 122
RFDC: 112.5
Terry's Peeps: 97
sjboyd: 95
Hawg Ass: 92.5
jackref: 82.5
NSD: 78.5
douchebag: 68
KI: 44

Check your scores and let me know if I made an egregious error. I'll do the draw for the hidden idol tomorrow evening if these results hold.

It is also time to vote someone out. Barring any bad arithmetic, IMU has immunity for this round. IMU picked 7 of the 8 games correct, pushed on one, and earned bonus points on 7 of the 8 games. RFDC also did well picking 7 of 8, and also earned bonuses on 7 of the 8 games. It looks like picking the Bears for the guaranteed points vs. risking it with New Orleans (62!) and a better contrarian pick got IMU the victory.

Votes need to be in by Tuesday @ 7pm. Idols can be played until 9. You can vote for any of the remaining contestants:

Terry's Peeps
mcbrides
IMU <immunity -- no votes will be counted>
Panther
Hawg Ass
Krazy Ivan
OKC
sjboyd0137
jackref
Northside Dan
RFDC
Douchebag
rogers park bryan

For the record, BlackCastle averaged 87.3 pts and DDP averaged 88.9 pts.

I'm a little confused here. I thought this was a team challenge. When and why did this morph into an individual challenge? And why weren't the 0's factored into the averages of the team scores?

I think it became individual once newer decided to forgo the teams.

I get that, but why was the decision made in the middle of a challenge?

There aren't enough active people on the individual teams to make voting worthwhile.
Since everyone has to vote, a couple more people will fall off based on strikes they will accrue from not voting.
Survivor is full of twists and turns -- the rule change was made on Friday before any of the games were played, and I allowed changing of entries just in case this affected your ballots.
I didn't factor 0s in last year -- I should have mentioned that during the rules but it shouldn't be a problem now that it is each man for himself.
Votes should go to csfmbsurvivor@gmail.com.

The idol for the previous contest has been awarded. As a reminder, the top seven finishers had entries into the idol contest.

Looks like we're getting a good response on the voting this round. You've got one more hour to vote at CSFMBSurvivor@gmail.com and then you'll have up until 9 PM to play an idol.
