Lets face it, the Cubs Pitching Coach Mark Riggins is nothing special and may well lose his job as soon as Quade is fired and a new Manager is hired. Now that LaRussa has retired, I wonder if it might be possible for the Cubs to aquire Dave Duncan??? I have no idea if his contract has expired as did LaRussa's at seasons end, but if so.....I would certainly entertain the idea and make a call.

That would be good. I would love Duncan.

They may approach Maddux, but he will probably turn it down. Riggins sucks.

Mike Maddux? Rumored for Boston managerial gig.

Would love to have Duncan, but he might want the head gig now? Especially that Tony L is gone.

If Duncan doesn't get the Cards job, then he has been working with a huge group of a_holes for a long time. Nobody deserves it more or has earned it more than him. He might be another "Mazzone/Baltimore" failure but he should get the chance.

Cubs are going to get Don Cooper. However, he'll still be on the payroll for you know who.

If idiot Kenny was running the north side, they'd get Steve Trout or Dick Ruthven.

Honest question - is Leo Mazzone still alive/under contract?

Duncan's wife has serious health issues. If he doesn't stay with the Cardinals he'll probably retire.

Wouldn't mind him being hired as a consultant or some kind of role like that.

I'm all for Pornstache Man Mike Maddux though. Considering what happened with the first pitcher he coached!

You can be sure they will have yet another press conference if the get a new pitching coach. Got the GM, asst Gm, asst to the travelling secretary, manager, pitching coach, hitting coach, and bullepen coach to introduce.
