Sini doing his usual song and dance in this thread, I see.

There's a lot of assholes here who'd bring up the smartass comment.

I've long maintained that people are not here for others' entertainment. Should something happens in someone's family, and it's ___ (insert Kim Kardasian, Erik Kramer, Mike North, whomever's) family, snarky comments are called for. Would you be so snarky if it were your neighbor? Some of you, probably yes, but hopefully the neighbor hears of it and beats the shit outta yas.

A corollary to that is, that's why entertainers are paid so much. Kramer makes a bad judgement on the field, we get to hoot and holler. Kramer's wife, children, no.

I'm running a little slow today, Beebo, so please help clarify:

On the surface, yes. But I'm going to defer to Bernstein on whether this qualifies as a "tragedy" or not.

Yeah,Ok...your right. Because that's the thought of most sane adults when they read of a tragedy. I'm a dad and can't imagine what Kramer and his wife are going through right now. Of course,I don't know the kid from Adam but when a young life of any kind is snuffed out,it bothers me as a human being and a parent. I'm hoping there are more people like me in the world than like you. Sanctimonius prick??? What the fuck does that make you with the mental capacity of an 8 year old to make a crack like that?

OOH NICE AD HOMINEM, SHITHEAD!!! so now if anyone disagrees with you they're "children" and "insane" because CLEARLY JIMMYPASTA IS SOOOOO RIGHT THAT, DUH, ANYONE WHOSE VIEWS ARE ASKEW FROM HIS IS NOT A "SANE ADULT."

and to verify my "maudlin" remarks, now you're playing the "I HAVE A KID" card to back your shit up... come on man, alls i'm saying is why the fuck are you being so sanctimonious? i prefer the wikitionary definition of sanctimonious cuz it comes closest to what i feel the word means:

sanctimonious (comparative more sanctimonious, superlative most sanctimonious)
Making a show of being morally better than others, especially hypocritically pious.

so you're morally better than me, and i don't think you deny that you've gone and proven that, especially in the wake of letting everyone know that i'm an insane child.

so the next time that "a young life is snuffed out" and "it bothers [you] as a human being and a parent" i want you to be front and center with another thread. why, i fully expect you to comb the obituaries every day and keep us up to date on every young life getting snuffed out, cuz otherwise i think it'd be patently obvious that the only reason you gave a shit about this kid is that he was shot from the dick of a guy who QB'd for your beloved bears during the 1990s. if you wanna accuse me of being an "insane child" in the wake of my asking a perfectly warranted question (AGAIN: WHO THE FUCK NAMES THEIR KID "GRIFFEN???") then i'm going to be there to "flip the script" and call you a sanctimonious geezer for acting all high and mighty like your vaunted thread can only be a shrine to somebody that nobody on here knew or cared about before you floated in on your cloud of morality and tried to make us "pay our respects" for reasons i cannot personally fathom.

Hey, easy pal...

This.....tragic. Feel terrible for Erik. :(

It is amazing to me that people can read Sini's comments in this thread and yet I am the one that gets called out in the other thread about making inappropriate comments.

Oh well, I will never win poster of the day, whatever will I do with myself...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say drinking yourself to death = not tragic. I feel bad for the family, and that they have to experience this, but getting shit faced and dying is not tragic, it's just dumb.

Tragic for the family, indeed.

I don't think I'd feel comfortable walking up to Erik right now saying, "Nah, this is ok....not tragic. He deserved it."

Actually, isn't this situation the very definition of tragic .... that is to say, his own choices led to his own demise ...., no?

Must be...

I'm not happy with the initial snarky comment nor the ensuing argument.

But there are other assholes who'd make the same snarky comment, here, too. Someone made the inference only Sini would have done this. No, the only thing Sini-specific is his perchant for long messages.

(Why was I not happy? I was prepared to wince at the original comment and let it go, but then it went on and on, with Sini trying to fight back. Its like an ass-stain on the carpet. My initial message was along the lines of "everyone shut up, let it go...")

The kid wasn't killed by a stray bullet in a drive by, or run over by a drunk driver. Those are tragedies, this is not.

If only he would've had 18 shots instead of 20. This tragedy could have been averted.

since when does the definition of "tragedy" have to be earned through criteria judging if the victim deserved what was coming to them? a tragedy is a terrible event. a young man drinking so much as to die as a consequence certainly seems to meet the criteria of a tragedy to me.

Pretty much my stance on the issue.

And RFDC, Sini's insensitive comments don't negate the insensitive shot you took yesterday. IMO, you're both jerks for different reasons.

Don Tiny is right. Bernstein's crusade is using the wrong term. It is a tragedy by definition.

Definitley have seen sadder stories but still a tragedy.

trag·e·dy   /ˈtrædʒɪdi/ Show Spelled[traj-i-dee] Show IPAnoun, plural -dies.1.a dramatic composition, often in verse, dealing with a serious or somber theme, typically that of a great person destined through a flaw of character or conflict with some overpowering force, as fate or society, to downfall or destruction.

Interesting.....so it was a heroin overdose and his friend freaked when he overdosed and dumped him off at a house instead of a hospital.
