first fumble in 300 and some touches, thats fine, not ripping the guy, but without Forte's fumbles are the Eagles even in this game?

Nope, the fumbles were the only thing that held the Bears back. Their offense was nearly unstoppable with a tremendous amount of 3rd down pick-ups and good conversions in the red zone. The O-line looked great. The normal places where the Bears win games were not present- special teams and the net turnover battle. They essentially did nothing on kickoff returns and both of the Bears' turnovers turned into TD's for the Eagles. I swear Cutler looked like Favre out there with all the interesting arm angles and improvised flips to outlet receivers. Very nice game.

Except the interview with Sean Jensen last week in the Sun Times and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8c2ibV1VAs

We are in week 9 , how about from now on whenever the media asks him about it he goes with " Im not going to talk about this any more this year, Ive given my views on this numerous times, I'll just let it play out and we'll address it at the end of the season."

Has Forte started fumbling on purpose? Is he telling Jerry "Pay me the money or I will start to throw games"?

Yeah, he's going to do interviews being the best back in the league this year. I meant he's not running a campaign and constantly bringing it up like others have.

Could you guys explain what happened on Forte's second fumble and ensuing replay?

The ref was clearly signaling that the ground caused the fumble, and can only assume he was blowing his whistle.  Play dead at that point.

Then, under review, the play is correctly ruled a fumble.  THEN, they referred to the tape of what happened AFTER the whistle to determine possession.

If you're supposed to play to the whistle and the whistle means the play is dead, how can they award possession based on what happens after the whistle?

That's Wannie logic.

The Eagles turned the ball over on the fumbled punt giving the Bears the 7 right back before halftime. Vick threw a pick deep in Bear territory.

This is exactly what I was yelling at my TV.

Those two fumbles cost me a fantasy football win.

The bizarre, public drive to over-commit money to Forte hit the brakes, even though he played well. As good as he is, and as valuable as he may be, running-backs are just running-backs, not passers. LeSean McCoy is better and more talented than Forte, clearly to anyone who saw the game.

Wha? I have liked Mc Coy since his Pitt days but Dan and I must have been watching different games. Forte ran at will on the Eagles. Mc Coy had one big run that saved his averages.

He had some WOW moves. Bernstein is just trolling though.

Then again McCoy didnt have the fucking monster offensive line pushing the D all over the field.

There were some true "We will run right the fuck over you" moments with the line last night

McCoy and Forte, IMO, are both in the top 5 RB's in the league.

Is it really that big of a statement? I think the majority of people around the league would consider McCoy the better back

He is faster and flashier, but Forte continues to show game after game why he is one of the (if not the) best RB in the NFC.

I don't disagree with you Frank. I would rather have Forte right now. But they are pretty close, not sure it is really a big controversial statement to make.

I don't see how it's anywhere near clear or obvious from last night's game though.

Exactly Zeph! That is why it is a controversial statement RFDC.

Forte gave you plenty of WOW moments against the Bucs. This time he just ran over and around the Eagles. I think they should have stayed on the ground even more than they did because the Eagles didn't seem to hold them under 10 yards for any three straight run plays.

This. McCoy may be better, but he certainly wasn't last night. Forte was worlds better.

He's been complaining in public a lot lately with the "any other team would pay me" talk.

Completely agree -- I know the rule used to be that you can't challenge a non-fumble call for that very reason -- the player is down by contact and the whistle is blown before the recovery could be made. Maybe they changed that rule at some point recently?

That's the rule. This was managed incorrectly, unless the refs did actually verify no whistle was blown before the recovery which is possible.
