Sad to say, but I doubt that any shelter will take your cat.
There are too many of them and they know there is probably a problem if you want to give it up.
Putting it to sleep, unfortunately, is really the only serious option for you.
The only other choice would be to put it in a box and leave it on the doorstep of a shelter before it opens.
It will probably be put to sleep but your conscience won't feel as bad as if you did it on your own.

Put it down just for being hyperactive? The fuck? Its not pissing all over...

That's why I said in my original post about being honest about it. I've considered saying that
"I'm moving to a strict No-Pet policy apartment or something and that this little guy really would make a lovely addition to any family......."

I think he would thrive in a cageless shelter among other cats such as the one near my house.
I'm not going to lie by telling you I haven't thought about wrapping him in a blanket in his carrier with his paperwork.
People usually ask for advice when they've no experience dealing with certain problems, so for the few of you who have
added something to the dialogue, thanks.
For the rest of you, find another thread to hone your comedy bits.

Naw, this one works just fine.

Try to be a better pet owner. Not a comedy bit. Don't handi cap a cat then throw it out. Seriously. What is wrong with people?

Just try harder man. Regardless of how I feel about declawing, you need to have more patience. Buy the cat a toy... Actually buy him a toy that will wear him out...

Who the fuck are you, and what the fuck are you talking about?
Not sure how or why I've suddenly reached your radar unless you
and a couple of other people have conspired to form some sort of
cabal against me, what with the recent skip tracing and Coldplay swipes, et al.

Read the fucking OP and then the rest of the thread.

Who said anything about "throwing it out"? I asked about giving him away. You had no useful info.
Are you a DVM? What the fuck do you know about "handicapping" a kitten who was of proper age to become declawed by an actual doctor?
Should we not have neutered him as well, Pamela Anderson?

For all your insight and useful opinions about how I should deal with my cat, you should see my hands, wrists, calves, to get a glimpse of the scarring.

He's fucking crazy, we can't have him anymore, I'm not going to throw him in the lake, nor let him loose in the woods.
READ THE FIRST POST, or leave me the fuck alone.

Pets are like a eternal 3 yr old and a huge responsibility. You have to work at it. You wouldn't say my 15 year old is a dbag and I need to give him away, you work out the problems. Talk to a vet and see what options you have like a obediance class. Also too the snip might not have fully taken so he's still got some energy there and is trying to take out his frustrations anyway he can.

I'm aware that I talked plenty of shit about my cat in the OP,
I just don't know why someone can't ask for legit advice without it turning into a fucking Monday night open mike routine.

If someone were to post "RIP Mr. Pickles" because their dog had died,
there would be 25 posts of sympathy.
I simply asked how to alleviate myself and family from an anti-social cat without having to lie about it, or abandon it willy-nilly.

How can I get rid of this 90 pound CRT TV? 25 replies, most of them helpful.

Looking for new cable service, any advice? 50 replies.

I've had to take 4 cats and 3 dogs to be put to sleep in my life, yet I simply ask
if anyone knows anything about shelters and the amateur comedy club comes out in droves.
:(

Really?

Be patient. I doubt your cat will always be like that. Unless someone is or has abused it.
