I'm not judging but I'm curious. You still (or did you ever) laugh at this character?

(FYI: He's my GPS voice)

Creamy Hamstrings.

Yes, I laugh. Its funny because its a cartoon making fun of that sort of thing.

I dont think its hypocritical to be a little less amused when the joke is about a real life subject

Yes, I often laugh when I see him. He is a cartoon character and meant to make us laugh.

If anyone says that this guy isnt funny, I better not see any jokes from Airplane when the kid is brought into the cockpit. Make believe is funny, real life is not.

In that vein, didn't South Park get in trouble regarding 9/11 a few years ago?

I havent really been into South Park for a long time. But that sounds like something that could happen. I guess a totally made up character with no connections to real life is different to me. If they made some jokes in the next episode about how Herbert loves Penn State or is applying for a job there, then I think that would be in bad taste.

Laugh at him all the time. Family Guy is not endorsing pedophilia with the character.

He's funny because the humor is funny, and jokes are meant to be funny.

It has nothing to do with the difference of "real life" or "cartoons". Or being hypoctrical. Or feeling bad because you found something funny.

Humor is humor, and derives from real life situations. Otherwise nobody would ever get the joke.

You should never feel bad about laughing.

Thin end of the wedge story arc and character meant to chip away at the demonization of pedophilia in 21st century Western culture. There's an on-going effort by some academics, mental health professionals and others to push for the normalization of pedophilia, similar to how homosexuality has become more accepted, less demonized:

Mr. Herbert is funny.

Jesse is funny.

IMU and UMN are not.

Who was trying to be funny?

Its such a bad show even the commercials are terrible. Commercials usually have the best comedic bits from the shows in order to advertise them.

One of the better cartoon shows. Not up there with the Simpsons or the Critic but still pretty good.

Thats an interesting and possibly annoying thing they do in pretty much every episode. Somtimes its hilarious but I could see it annoying too.

The cavecouple was awesome and Bin Laden

You and I have the same philosophy.

I don't particularly like the character as I don't find him funny.

Laughing at Hogan's Heroes is neither an endorsement of the Nazis nor a diminishment of the atorcities.

Gallows humor has been around since the beginning of man.

But they weren't shoving people in ovens or murdering people on the show. They were portrayed as idiots, not monsters...

They don't show the character on Family Guy having sex with children and they make him old and doddering.

Haven't you ever been in a horrible situation and seen the humor in it, while also recognizing it is horrible?

True, but it took all of the ugliness to actually happen in order for the jokes to make sense later.

If the Nazi's were just a non-factor in history, then making jokes about them simply wouldn't make any sense.
