it's when the satirical elements only reflect the characters that revolve around the show. i don't think it's clever. it's unimaginitive and it gets old. satirize pop culture in general and it works. get into characters like cartman's imaginary friends...snooze fest.
Fine. Here's the problem with your explanation. We were talking about the Thanksgiving episode -- and your example comes from the Cartman 1 percent episode.
