Impressed with the process so far. The appearance of repairing ties with Big Z, was a nice move. To crap on your own guy only does one thing, lowers his value to you. This was something that Jerry Krause was a master of, he never said anything bad about one of his players, even when they shit all over him, and he got max value for these guys.

I also like talking to as many people as possible about everything as nobody has a clue of exactly what they are doing.

I totally agree about Zambrano. Even if you don't plan on keeping him around what is the point of devaluing someone publically before trying to unload him. That's how you end up with Carlos Silva.

I'm most impressed with this pissing match they are playing with the Red Sox. These guys know who the Red Sox want as their manager, so they are making a play on the same guys. They are going to make a powerplay here to allow the Red Sox to make their choice of manager without challenge in exchange for no compensation for Theo.

The Red Sox will get compensation. But I am glad they didn't just give them top prospects, just to get it settled quickly.
