Promoted RHP Dan Hudson (5th, 2008) to Double-A Birmingham, the third rung of ladder the Old Dominion product has reached this season. Two other members of Chicago’s robust ’08 draft class already have reached Double-A: Gordon Beckham and Jordan Danks. Hudson ranks seventh in the minors with 87 strikeouts after dealing nine of them in his eight-inning Barons debut.

Bottom line is the guy was a "name" in the Sox system in the past and had value as a trade chip. Now after 2 shit seasons, he's a fringe prospect at best.

But you're absolutely right. He was a "name" in the Sox system and that's all he was. He was never a trade chip because teams don't trade for mediocre 7th round "names".

So both of those guys had no value as 7th round picks? That is not even looking at other 7th round picks . Just guys taken at the exact same spot as Danks...you can also throw in Hal Morris... you want the whole list of 7th round picks that made the MLB it would go on for pages.Little or no value I think not.

Ok you make a list of all the 7th rounders who made to the majors and I'll make a list of all the 7th rounders who didn't make it to the majors. Whose list do you think will be longer??

I never said he didn't have value. I'm saying he never had enough value for another team to trade for him. Thanks for playing.

I'm chill. I just think you're talking out of your ass. Just because "Kenny" has had success trading minor leaguers for vets in the past doesn't mean he has to do it with every minor leaguer in the system. The Kid didn't develop. It happens with middle and late round picks. A lot.

I am just wondering how you knew that no teams (including the White Sox) thought Jordan Danks was a prospect.
I would think more then one other team would have come knocking on Kenny's door to ask about his possible availability as a trading chip?
Do you have other sources who did not rank him in any years 2009-2010-2011?

Agreed. I think most sensible Sox fans recognized Buehrle for what he was...and that was not someone in whom you wanted to invest 14+million in for another 4 years.

They wouldn't have had to pay him that contract if they never let him hit free agency. They should have resigned him a year ago and that is what I'm most angry about.
