Oy.

Don Tiny is right. We're both stupid on this.

Simple question: Is Cutler's injury a gigantic deal for the Bears season or not?

I dont think you mean this.

If Tony Stewart Breaks his right leg, it affects his lifestyle.
If LeBron Breaks his right arm it affects his lifestyle.
If Albert Pujols breaks his right wrist - it affects his lifestyle.

Are you sure you wanna stick with this?

Have to jerk it with his left hand now.

Hopefully he has a full recovery.

Thumb injuries? Are they the kinda thing that lingers?

Wow.

I can't fucking believe this. Martz finally pulls his head out of his ass, the offense looks pretty good and Cutler is now out for basically the rest of the year.

Amazing.

I'm pretty sure it is. We can at least agree their other options are all horrible, I think.

i'm with you, dude.... alls i can say is at least i had three amazing live games this year with the atlanta, detroit, and san diego games.... i didn't think they were gonna win any of hte 3 going int othem, and to my amazement they kicked proper ass in all 3... today's game was the most fulfilling win... just the way they played... like a real honest-to-god good football team. san diego played pretty well (for san diego anyways) early on and when they tied it at 17 i was expecting the bears to regress back to a shitty offense and whatnot... but they were amazing.

and now, well, we'll have meatballs saying the bears woulda beat the undefeated packers if cutler didn't break his thumb. expect a life full of it =D

The Bears schedule is pretty easy for the rest of the season. I think Martz can put Hanie in a position to succeed enough to win at least 3 if not more games the rest of the season. Bears will make the playoffs and Cutler will play in the playoffs.

I was wondering what was up with the granny sweater, too. Kristin probably bought it for him.

This is fucking amazing. Not the Cutler stuff, but how FF actually is allowed to continue without being called out for what he is. 15,000 posts and still not an intelligent blurb to be found.

Actually thats not true, he did go out of his way to say school us all in why the cover 2 was dead. Lots of intelligent analysis, big NFL sounding verbiage. It just didnt amount to shit. Or maybe it was someone else, lol. I do tend to take this place too seriously...

in the spirit of talking to brick walls that i so often represent, i would like to offer up something.

my number is 37.... at the age of 14 i decided that the number 37 would represent me throughout the whole of time and space, and therefore i would also represent it: an arbitrary number that i'd look for throughout my life in the hopes of deciphering the eternal order versus chaos question via experiences with synchronicity.... suffice to say, it took awhile... like 12-13 years, but eventually it started working out.

as i got more and more into the numerology thing, i developed this... phobia, let's say, regarding the number 36. as i tried to interpret what the number 37 meant to me juxtaposed with my current position in time and space and thought, i intrinsically began to associate the number 36 with being "less" than me, or what i should be... being "below" me, or basically being an outright sign of negative/bad energy/vibes/etc. as time rolls on, i've found myself quite frankily a bit neurotic over my inherent fear when i see the number 36 pop up.

i tell you this because my ticket for today's bears game was in section 433 row 36. when i saw that i was like "oh shit...." and it's entirely possible that if synchronicity truly exists on an indecipherable level (think dog whistle here) that i will this shit to happen, but whatever... i kept thinking it'd be a loss... or something fucked up would happen to me on the way back home, or maybe it was for my fantasy team. well the game was glorious and i was all WOOHOOOO!$#@ and everything worked out and i got home safely (union station @ night freaks me out) and everything was all fine and good, in fact, i was like pfft take that 36, you're wack as shit!#!@$#@

but then as i made my love-letter-to-the-2011-bears-post in the bears forum, i popped over to check irc and i saw a link to the broken thumb story... and in the end, that 36 rose up like the giant head of rich kotite and welcomed us back to the veritable early-kyle-orton era of bears football: DEAL WITH IT!!!$#@

anyways, i reckon you lot are just gonna think i'm schizo and delusional and that much more nuts than you already think i do, but i had to be real and point out that this fate was evidently in the stars... in the case that i'm actually an unknowing deity, i apologize for extending my curse-of-the-number-36 to your football team =D

Whatever would make you think we could possibly come to that conclusion?

oh gee thanks reason. don't tell me that you've never even considered doing some sort of experiment where you assign arbitrary importance to something and then watch for its appearances in your life to try and gauge if they're utterly random or perhaps signifying some sort of deity/order/1-as-opposed-to-zero. that's the one fun thing about life: no matter how many people research all this intergalactic shit and get down to how life actually works, nobody can technically define what it is.... or why it is for that matter. henceforth, humanity has a proud history of people who hang out in deserts for way too long going out and creating proper religions with a personable deity to try and make sense of it all

ah well, in relation to these 2011 bears.... i'm back to asking myself the question "is it better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all?" where do you lot stand on that one?

anyways, i think i'm going to go hang out on the redline and casually introduce myself to random people as god. i'll report back with some adventures later on! =D

I find it ironic that Cutler got hurt only after the Bears were able to start protecting him, while a lesser QB would have been killed years ago.

Not at all surprised to see FF react the way he did. Kinda shows a lot about him. Sure it helps the Packers out, but that's no reason to laugh at an injury. If it was Rodger who broke a leg or something and people were laughing he wouldn't like it at all.

Have they described the exact type of thumb break he has yet? It will shed a lot of light on whether or not a return is realistic for this post season.

 Frank you'd be the first one laughing if Rodgers broke a leg. And Cutler broke his thumb, not his neck or something that could really endanger him. It sucks, but it really only effects the Bears and him for the next six games. I don't feel guilty for laughing, because I'll say it again, it's really not a huge deal.

Bledsoe helped out in the AFC title game against Pitt in '01 iirc.

The anti FF is way overblown.

You can get back at him when Hanie finally gets to beat the Pack for 4 quarters.
