The GF and I are having Thanksgiving this year. It should be pretty damn fun...
I'm looking forward to it. My Mom and Sister will be there so we should be alright for cooking.
I'll be working on the brine tomorrow night...

"Can't wait..."

Turkey
Duck
Stuffing
Mashed Potatos
Sweet Potatos
Corn
Green Beans
Mac N Cheese
Pretzel Rolls
Cranberries
Jello

Beer.
Wine.
Coke, Diet Coke, etc...

crackers, meats & cheeses, etc..

Pies:
pumpkin pie
banana cream pie
pumpkin cake with an apple cinnamon glaze
pumpkin ice cream
peppermint ice cream.

...boom.

I'm only off work Thurs. My sister & bro in law are hosting, grilling the turkey. Should be a nice Holiday!

I've got work. Strangely enough, that's the only day I have to go in this week.

Worst holiday ever.

Bad food, forced socialization with crazy family members. Keep it.

You an arbor day fan? Tree huggin' hippie.

It's the best holiday ever. Great food & football. You can come to my family party. They make fun of me a lot.

There is something wrong with you. You hate Thanksgiving and bacon.

You're both a couple of burritos. I'm going by Spaulding's to make fun of her.

The family thing does create issues. I have now shunned the larger family get together for a third year running, but mine is a little different. I am not anti the crazy people, just the formal T day really sucks! and I don't want to offend the queen hostess by telling her I would rather lay on a couch watching football, than getting into a suit and going to a formal cocktail reception with 100 new people every year at 6 on the nose, then getting a place card and waiting until 7 PM for the buffet line.

My unwillingness to participate has grown into a small fragment of the family, going to be 8 this year and the sense that we dont like the others is now being tossed out for discussion.

So even without being somewhere, the family tension has risen.

Fuck it, I am having a drink!

That does not sound like a fun holiday whatsoever.

That is Christmas day. My aunt and uncle's 100 closest neighbors, business associates, and family. Family no longer attends. Might be worse now as it's an in law day for me.

Anyone that ever tries to say you don't marry the family is full of shit.

Not me. My parents are awesome.

But my wife's family comes to our house for Thanksgiving.

Luckily they are cool as well.

I honestly did not marry the family. Thank god. Them "people" are crazy.

Spaulding - if you think Thanksgiving is great for the food and the football, hold on to your seat. I've got this new holiday coming up called New Year's Day! It;s even better - it's actually food people like instead of a bird people eat once a year (because it sucks) and some jelly-based pink thing in a can.

I'm usually hung over and a majority of the time in Ohio. Not a good day. Not a fan of college football either.

Turkey is awesome and you need to make cranberry sauce. We have a lot of fun with other pink jelly based stuff in our house, it's non toxic and for year round use, but not really edible.
