spanky doesn't like turkey, he doesn't like bacon, he roots for the Cubs, doesn't bring a grill to tailgates....why do any of us associate with him again?

Dude. I brought a damn grill.
And let's not forget all of you people would have been flipping burgers with your bare hands if not for me.

And the strange gentleman parked behind us.

forgetting a spatula or tongs when you bring a grill is pretty high on the tailgate fail meter.

1.) The sheer amount of food that is available at multiple locations. (I likes to eat...)

2.) Get to hang with family and see extended family

3.) Long-ass weekend

4.) No gift buying

5.) Football

Christmas and Halloween are great if you are a child. New Years ranges between meh and dangerous depending on location. St. Patricks Day.....no. Valentines Day is cool because you most likely get pretty decent sex, but you also more than likely have to buy something. Flag Day is alright...

#1 - is true, but turkey sucks. That's why nobody eats it the rest of the year.
#2 - Icky. I'll send mine over to you.
#3 - The good part. Can't argue it. You should see how long my weekend is at christmas though. 8)
#4 - you don't buy gifts over thanksgiving weekend? Black Friday? You are in the minority - at least halfway.
#5 - There was football the last 2 Thursdays and will be for the next 5. Not enough to win me over.

And you forgot the 4th of July in your list of other holidays, commie.

4th of July is a win because you get to blow shit up.

All of Spanky's points are spot on...especially about the turkey.

I did. It's ok, I guess. If you like America.

I dig the BBQ, but that can be done all throughout the summer...

I am spending my last Thanksgiving with my ex and her family. I don't have anywhere else to go and they
were nice enough to invite me over. It will be a bittersweet holiday this year. I generally like Thanksgiving
and while turkey isn't my favorite when you add in the mashed taters and stuffing I find it quite edible, at least
for that day. Left over turkey sammiches with mayo are good too.

They should have a holiday dedicated to ham. It's quite possibly the world's perfect food.

I really thought that had some kind of religious affiliation to it.
