I kind of wish the lockout was still going so I wouldn't be subjected to your daily dose of NBA nincompoopery.

The Bulls are in great shape because 10 or 11 of their 12 man roster will be back this season. They don't have to worry about bringing new guys into the fold and having them learn a new system in a matter of days. I'm not sure why that is difficult to understand. Also, having a compressed schedule will be more of an advantage to a younger team than an older team like Boston. You think the C' are going to look good on the 3rd night of a back to back to back? Oklahoma City will also have a large portion of their roster returning, and I think they will be coming out of the West this year because of all of the same reasons I stated above.

Besides the Big 3, and Haslem and Miller, the Heat will probably have an entirely new roster. Remember all of the problems they had last season with guys figuring out what their role is? It's going to be the same this season, and they have even less time to get everything together and figured out.

I think the Lakers are going to self destruct this year. With a new coach, they are going to have to install a new offense in a matter of days. There was also a great deal of conflict last season, which probably will be even worse this year without Phil being around. We will see our first Artest blow up within a month of the season starting (unless they amnesty him, which they should).

The Lakers won't even have home court in the first round of the playoffs, and I wouldn't even be surprised if they missed the playoffs. I have a feeling this will be like the Rudy T year from 2004-2005.

Orlando could be around this season as a last push with Howard. They are going to amnesty Arenas (if they aren't strupid), so they should have some cap space available to make a couple meaningful moves.

On ESPN Ric Bucher said while they do have no-out clauses, there's really no way of enforcing it. They could just leave China and come back here and play. I don't know if that's true or not. I do know that even though the Georgetown basketball team couldn't start World War III, I wouldn't put it past JR Smith and KDdidit Martin.
