The amount of self-worth, self-esteem, and egomania embodied in this tiny man is quite a thing. All Chicago athletes are HIS friends. His guys, at the Score, on HIS "tree". His illness, and what people looked to HIM for. His excitement, over everything, about what HE is going to talk about. The formality of HIS deal. Him being so giving as to stick around for 30 minutes into whomever's show follows HIS.

This guy is the most colossal of dbags I have ever heard on the radio. And I've heard Marriotti. I've heard Whitlock. I've heard Telander and Danny Bonaduce. No one compares to this talentless, big talking, knob-slobbering dope. I have never heard any third tier media guy have such an insane amount of self-importance gurgle out of his mouth at all times. It's incredibly frustrating to listen to this guy, and that is only second behind the hilarious guys here who claim to love Larry.

God bless BigFan for refusing to give this idiot a forum.

This guy is as important to the station as was Tom Shaer.....he was a guy, on the station, that had a show. Congrats, quite a legacy. Here's to hoping he fails upward like Greenberg, anything to get him off of the relevant air in Chicago.

Larry needs to check that ego and self loving when he goes to NBC five. He lords over his lowley produers at the Score and they all have to accept it and tell Larry he's great. Cuz who are they gonna bitch too? Nobody wants to hear them crying. Nobody cares what a radio producers thinks. But Larry can't do the "My sportscast", "My camera man", "My desk", "My Sports Sunday Show", "My Dick Johnson" shit at NBC 5.

You think those news people are gonna put up with his bullshit and weirdness? No. TV news people have always hated the sports anchor. They're gonna hate Larry more. He's gonna find out real quick that his act won't work there.

We know he already made 250k

250k x .04= 10K

250k + 10K = 260K

You gotta remember, Im going low end. This is AT LEAST what he makes[/quote]

"WE" Dont know that. And You are wrong he makes much less than your alleged confirmed $275K.

I would tell you that all the hours Larry is on the air during his show. They dont even bill $275K during that slot, making nearly impossible for you to be correct.

Have asked about the $275K and got a few "Not in that ballpark" and hearing other stories about how others deals get approved by Rod Zimmerman, he is not very generous when it comes to handing out contracts or money.

Larry's value to Mitch is that he is the utility player.
-Spiegs, Mac, Boers someone always out, need a fill in weekly, on short notice, Can call Larry at 7 AM.
-Same guy needs to think his 35 minute show is a vital part of the day
-same guy needs to do beat reporting at Halas Hall
-for this he gets a show at night to tell everyone how cool he is.
-all this has value, but nowhere near $275K

Utility guy, never a real starter.

What a douchebag for calling it a "formality."

Why is that bothering everyone so much? Do we need our sports talk radio host to be humble like our local sparts stars?

I'll go one step further. There was no option to be picked up. Larry said the Score picked up his 2012 and 2013 option. What? Didn't Larry just announce that he signed a 3 year deal a few months ago? Then you have a Score option so soon? No. If the Score wanted him when they signed him there is no need to have a "club option" so quick. That makes no sense. I'm not saying options aren't done in radio, but not a few months after you just signed.

Like I said, he just posted that on twitter to get people off the scent of NBC 5 and to get people to stop asking and speculating.
Maybe Doc is right, though. Maybe Zimmerman is playing hard ball with NBC 5. Not cuz he wants to keep Larry, he could care less, Larry's are a dime a dozen to Zim. He'll find another one for that inconsequential shift. But maybe Zim is thinking he can get money from NBC 5 for the Score allowing Larry out. It's worth a shot for Zim. No down side. We've all learned he's all about squeezing people in contracts negotiations. Why wouldn't he try to squeeze NBC 5?

As always, you give message boards and yourself too much credit for being relevant and important.
Why would someone waste their time and enegy to create such a deception to escape the heat of a couple hundred message board posters at most? What does all of this "asking and speculating" do to warrant the effort of creating the deception? What dire consequences might occur due to all of this speculation if left unchecked?
The answers? 1 - No sensible reason 2 - Absolutely nothing 3 - None whatsoever

I'm aware it's not important, I'm just telling you what's being done cuz it became a topic here. That's all. There is no significance to it. There would be no consequences if Larry let people speculate. I know that. Larry just did it to misdirect everybody just for the hell of it. Did he have to? No. He kind of likes doing it cuz it feeds his ego. I'm just saying Larry's tweet means nothing and that Larry is still heading to NBC 5 based on all the info we've received.
