Why can't Urlacher just catch the ball instead of batting it down?

They did not do the right thing. Urlaching trying to catch it was the right thing. Conte was wrong. You don't tip the ball when the Chiefs don't make a play on the ball. That's because, if the Chiefs aren't making a play on the pass, they are waiting for the tip. So catch the fucking ball.
