McNabb would be just as likely to throw 3 interceptions a game as Hanie, AND, he doesn't have Hanie's mobility, AND if you got him and played him Hanie would not get the experience he needs to develope AND THEN the Bears go into 2012 not knowing if their backup can play or not.

The first rule here should be that they not take a creaky has-been out of the trash heap. It would be an insane acquisition.

McNabb will know what the defense is doing when he comes to the line of scrimmage.
That is 100 times better than what they have now. As far as completing a pass,he can still
do certain things (short game). Play to his strengths. It might work.

Favre is a way better option than mcnabb. Neither are a good option but mcnabb is brutal.

Because McNabb has been passed over by 3 NFL teams in the last 3 seasons, because he went unclaimed via the waiver wire, because its week 13-14 and this late in the season a new QB is not going to be able to help.

Hanie is bad, no doubt about that. McNabb is done. He could do nothing for the Bears.

All valid points, however a tryout is a tryout, not a signing. McNabb may be a has been, but Hanie is a never was. A tryout will at least confirm he is done but at this point they can't rule anything out or they are toast.

There is no point in wasting time with giving McNabb a tryout. They have bigger fish to fry than Mcnabb at this point;

Get Enderlee up to speed (in case Hanie gets hurt), improve the Oline, show Barber where to line up, etc etc.

yes it is on angelo..martz saw what i did last year..hanie is a bum and did not want that turd on the roster..enderlee is probably a buster too..look at who keeps evaluating the talent and developing it...two guys who i thought were guaranteed to miss games was mike vick and jay cutler..not having a decent vet to step in quick is a huge mistake and it just cost the bears the post season.

there are 7 rounds in the draft. so hainey was passed over over 200 times and no team has wanted him since..mcnabb makes those short throws in the flat and quick slants..turns the ball over less..it is an easy decision to sign mcnabb for peanuts today.

KC sticks out to me. Although there probably wasn't enough time for him to play that game.

I think a veteran QB might realize that Barber wasn't lined up correctly or maybe reinforces the idea in Denver to stay in bounds - not to mention hitting a few more wide open guys.

When McNabb played the Bears earlier in the season he couldn't have hit water if he fell out of a boat. He was missing his receivers left and right. He is done and the Bears still find themselves out of the playoff picture if he was here.

Once again, this is on Angelo for not having at least an acceptable backup QB.

Remember when Mike Martz was bitched about for moving Hanie down to #3 on the depth chart? Maybe he knew the guy sucked all along.
