You think much of what Vegas has to say? You should. They kind of know what they're doing. Broncos are 3.5 favorites over the Bears. Home teams always get 3 points if the teams are even. So Vegas thinks this is an even matchup.

Bears have 3 winnable games. They should win at least 2 of them. They will beat the Broncos. They'll force some turnovers against Tebow.

They don't get 'em all correct. I'm just saying, despite Tebow being 6-1, even the bookmakers don't buy his bullshit game.

still, they're riding high and they do have a respectful defense and running game. and it's a home game. with the way the bears played against kansas city and even oakland, i don't see it being a balanced match up.

Vikings put some points up against the Broncos. I know they're pretty good, though. I'm banking on turnovers, field position and Tebow throwing the ball. That option shit is not gonna work against the Bears defense.

detroit's the only team so far that figured him out. but they also have weapons on offense and a competent quarterback. i think it will be a lower scoring affair, i just don't see the bears getting enough points to win.

they could get a few flukey things--special teams score, INT for TD or something. opportunistic things. but they will have to put drives together and i don't see them doing that.

Hanie wasn't as bad as the stats showed, he had 2 TDs yesterday that his team fucked up. The penalty on Barber and Williams dropped pass. There were other drops in the game. Plus Gould missed a field goal. The hail marry by KC was also a fluke. It was a bad game, but it wasn't as bad as people think. The Bears out played them and lost. They should have killed them. But they did out play them.

like i said, i don't see it at all. and if they make the playoffs, they're not going very far. i don't know what you're really rooting for at this point.

I think having games in December that matter is fun and worth rooting for them to get in. I told you that Cutler will be back to beat the Cowboys or 49ers in the playoffs. I'm rooting for that. I don't understand why that's hard to understand.

It's possible. This is the NFL. Saints lost to the Seahawks in the playoffs as 10 point favorites. I don't know if you remember that.

Serioulsly, nobody else finds some excitement for this stretch run. 4 weeks. 4 games. 4 teams. 2 spots. It's the NFL Playoff chase in December and the Bears have a shot. What the hell is wrong with rooting for them to get in? Then, once they get in, what's wrong with rooting for the Bears to beat the Cowboys and seeing that shot of Jerry Jones on the sideline with that sad look on his face.

Don't be that way. This is fun. They have a good shot. C'mon, what does it take to get you excited?

Never give out while there is hope; but hope not beyond reason, for that shows more desire than judgment. - What gives you reason to think they have a shot?

1. The fact that we have the 5 seed and tie breakers in our favor right now.

2. Our schedule

3. The schedule of the Giants, Lions and Falcons and the belief that we can beat out at least 2 of these 3 teams.

4. Our defense is good and could win 2 of these games with a little help from the offense.

5. Tebow, Jackson and Ponder are QBs for teams that we will be playing.

Then what? They get their brains beat in by the Packers? No thanks, seen it, don't want to see it again. They can't compete with good teams. They couldn't healthy. This was not a good team.

That's kind of the thrill of sports though. The fact that on any given day an upset can occur. Maybe it's your team. You can't have one vs. the Packers if you don't get there. It's always better to make the playoffs than not make the playoffs.

Packers will have a bye week. Like I said, we can beat the 49ers and Cowboys in the first round. That would be fun too.

But then all the dipshits that run that run the Bears were "right". It's a mess. It won't get cleaned up if they keep having "success".

At some point, if the dip shits make back to back playoffs, you have to stop saying we need change. Cuz isn't the change you want so that the Bears can make back to back playoffs?

I've always liked Angelo more than most people. He's done a better job than people give him credit for. I like Lovie Smith a little bit more now. He's a top 10 coach. Maybe at the lower end of that list, but top 10. That's not bad.

Beardown,

I agree with you that meaningful games, even in a season that's probably going to deadend immediately in the playoffs, are fun to watch. There are too few seasons in your life to only care if you think the Bears can win it all. You got to take your fun where you can get it.

The wierdest call I ever heard on the Score was some Sox fan to Julie Swieca. On opening day in some season where they had expectations he calls in to say, "What's the point of watching? The Sox can never beat Atlanta."
So this guy sees a regular season that matters and is won, then the Sox advance through two playoff series and win the pennant. But they can't beat Atlanta! So what's what's the point? Bernsie can be like that.

And I still like Steve Fuller. That loss would have been that great Monday Night game in Miami. The whole city stopped to watch it. Bears lost like 30-27 I think.

One more thing on the 1980s Bears. The back-up QBs evolved from Fuller to Flutie to Harbaugh to Tomczak. All guys who were good enough to start or at least be competant if needed to actually play.

A good team has to have that. If it doesn't, it's not truly a good team and you're trying to be successful on a hope and a prayer.

Screw you. I had it right. I saw this game going this way. 10 point lead with 5 minutes left and stupid plays cost them. Bears outplayed a team for the 2nd straight week and lost.

Laugh it up. They're out of it now. Hope you enjoy it.
