Next.

Felix is as good as gone. They are garbage.

The White Sox have way more talent at the major league level

Agreed the Mariners aren't very deep at the ML level in talent but they also aren't buried in bad paper like the Sox. And given their revenue streams, they can build quickly. The Sox have yet to hit bottom.

A's have prospects, Orioles have all the old Cub prospects.

Kansas City is worse. They always supposedly have young talent on the way, but it never actually equals wins at the major league level.

But they at least do have a farm system, which is more than the Sox can say. I'd say KC is a team on the come, the Sox are a team in a steep decline.

Pirates.. Cubs...HELLO

Pirates have good young talent, the Cubs now have a front office with a pedigree.

A's will either get a new stadium deal in San Jose or be moved (Vegas?) so with their low payroll and good young pitching, they aren't the worst.

Baltimore is in contention for shittiest franchise but they also have some good young talent at the ML level so I'd rank them a hair above the Sox.

Jerry allowed Kenny to spend like a mad man on shit veterans and then won't fire him. Houston just got sold so obviously a new direction.

nah the o's are like the royals..always touting their next group of draft picks developing..both are worse off than white sox...the cubs have no prospects either and both have 100 million is bad money..the cubs have 106 million...neither team looks great.

The Royals have had prospects for ever. But these are legit I think. They have 9 of the top 100 prospects.

Thats insane.

The O's have Markakis, Adam Jones, Matt Weiters, JJ Hardy and Zach Britton. Decent enough young base and better than the Sox. Cubs will have Z off the books after '12 leaving only Soriano as bad money and he may be dealt to save 5M of the 18M per annum.

He's earned the nickname because he won't fire people who need fired, i.e. Kenny, Baines, etc. It must be his age and all his millions have dulled his business acumen when it comes to personnel management.

Just another starry eyed bully. When the only new posts I see are from cpguy and 312 player its time for me to focus on work so I can leave before 7. Goodnight Chicago!

New ownership does not necessarily equal better ownership.

Are you familiar with Jim Crane and his team of 42 "co-owners" he needed to have enough money to even buy the team?
Discrimination charges filed by the EEOC which Crane ended up settling at 2 of his companies?
The unfortunate incident involving activities that led to war profiteering charges in Iraq by another Crane holding?

And then he turns around and immediately sells out Houston to the AL West....because Bud and Drayton give him a cash incentive!!

And then today, the Astros find out that they STILL can't escape Pujols!!!

so you think ricketts eats 40 million to move a "good clubhouse guy with decent power" and a team wants an old man who can only d.h and is very streaky and k's way too much? and is going to be 36 in a month..so probably 38 next month really. no chance at this happening, ricketts can not afford to eat 18 million from zambrano.

I saw Wandy's ML pitching debut at Wrigley Field! Astros were in town and my parents met me there. I think Clemens pitched the next night.

I read yesterday in the Houston Chronicle that there's talks about trading Wandy now....

Dude, read the blogs. Soriano has interest if the Cubs eat most of the contract and Z will be off the books one way or another after this seaon.

Kind of ironic that the Sox played Houston in the '05 World Series and now both suck.
