I'm trying to recall when Bane was first introduced. 1985 or so. Games are far more up-to-date, in terms of what they're adopting.

I'm trying to dope out which Bane this is based on. Keep coming up with Kane. In which case, where is Taker and Percy?

Bane was introduced in the Knightfall story arc in 1993.

it would've been cool if they could've adapted the long halloween but i realize that's more of a "detective" story.

my heart holds out hope one day for a "kingdom come" adaptation. that would be glorious.

Indeed it would.

I wouldn't mind seeing a No Man's Land adaptation either.

The prologue scene is pretty badass, unbelievable stunt work for the plane heist. Just wow. And I don't get why everyone was all up in arms about not being able to understand what Bane says...I thought it was pretty clear.

Also, the actual theatrical trailer #2 leaked online today (of course wiped now), but it is expected to be released tomorrow officially. It will run in front of Sherlock Holmes and most MI:4 screenings.

Seriously the last 2 big things with Batman associated to it for me have been Arkham City and The Dark Knight. Arkham City was one of the funnest games I have ever played and The Dark Knight is probably my favorite movie of all time. I had a hard time understanding what the hell Bane was saying in that video but the stunt was very cool.

The only thing that worries me is that I won't be able to understand what the heck Bane is saying throughout the movie. Other then that the preview looks awesome.

Nolan released a note explaining Bane's voice would be cleared up in post production.

Not exactly: (from latinoreview.com)

If you were one of the people to see Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol in IMAX theatres this weekend, then you probably also saw the extended prologue for The Dark Knight Rises. You also probably couldn't understand one damn word Bane was saying in the prologue. I haven't seen it, but the prevailing sentiment is that it needs to be less garbled and easier to make out. Well, apparently Warner Brothers feels the same way.

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that studio execs are a bit worried that no one can decipher what Bane is saying behind his mask. They asked Nolan to fix it in post-production, or rerecord it, but he says he will not. Apparently, Nolan will "only alter the sound slightly, not rework it completely". This makes perfect sense, why would he want the audience to hear what the main villian has to say?

Post-production is under way, but it will still be months before Nolan has a print to deliver to the studio, so we'll have to wait and see if anything improves.

Nolan has mad a lot of money for Warner Bros, and elevated what fans expect from an adaptation of a comic book. I guess he's earned a little leeway in his creative decisions, but this sounds
