I wasnt really the biggest fan of these movies before but from the previews this movie looks awesome. Also if you watch it in Imax you see the first 6 mins of the new Batman movie so that might be worth it just by itself.

New Trailer. Like I said before, the M:I films is the only franchise where the next movie is better than the last. This looks very interesting and packed with action:

UPDATE: Opening early at various IMAX theaters (Today).
Going to see it. Ebert and many other reviewers give it 3 to 4 stars.
Rotten Tomatoes (93%) have it very positive.

Movie Review:

Strengths: Amazing action sequences,Pattons tits on an IMAX

Weakneses: The main villian (late 50's) performs crazy stupid superhuman stunts.
Tom Cruise gets his ass kicked by this old guy.

A action/thriller is only as good as it's villian. The villian in this movie hardly says 5 sentences in the whole movie. BUT the action is fantastic.

I give it 3.5 stars out of 5. I thought MI:3 was better!

She's been in a few films. She is also Robin Thicke's wife (who is Allen Thicke's son).

She is easily one of the finest women alive.

The reviews for this thing are great. This is gonna be something...

Saw it last night. Pretty damn good. IMAX was worth it.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't need five seconds to "self destruct" inside Paula Patton.

That is all.

First movie I saw in the theaters since "wolfman"or whatever that shit was with Benicio Del Toro, and Anthony Hopkins.

It was pretty damn good, a lot more spy-ish than I though it would be. Makes me wish that James Bond would do some more of that stuff. Some great action too. But that old guy villian bothered me as well, that dude was out-running everyone, and he had to be 60+, but good length, good story, and good acting, good movie.

I thought that too with the Old guy villian. Didn't really understand that at all either.

Overall it was a fun movie to watch though and the chick is SMOKING HOT.

Minor spoilers ahead...

Went to see this last night and was pleasantly surprised. I thought the action sequences were almost flawless, with the exception of the final chase/fight, where I agree with other posters that the villain gave Cruise more trouble than I thought was plausible. Saw it it in the IMAX format, and there were a few moments that absolutely blew me (and my ears) away, most notably the shock wave created by the explosion of the Kremlin.

Say what you will about Cruise, but he's kept himself in great shape and delivers exactly what you would expect for this movie.

The old guy villain is only 2 years older than Tom Cruise. Tom turns 50 this year.

I really enjoyed this movie. The Abu Dhabai scene had me on the edge of my seat.

The old villian is the lead from the original Swedish Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I assume Hollywood will use him as the go to for any Nordic role that happens to come up over the next decade.

Patton is hot but kind of mannish...big shoulders.

Tom Cruise is starting to look creepy. He is not allowing himself to mature but instead is grasping on to a fleeting youth.

I saw MI-1 when it came out, but was upset by Metallica writing and giving it that lazy "I Disappear" tune and didn't pay attention to second and third installments. Would I need to watch them before going to see MI-4?
