He at least played the game and had the perspective of a former ball player.......regardless of him being very bad on the radio. North has the perspective of the fucking beer and hot dog vendors. No chance in hell he can follow a 9 inning game and stay on topic.

A few Months ago there was chatter that something was going to happen with Mike North & the White Sox broadcast. I thought North would become the pre & post game host. At least now White Sox games on the radio will be entertaining. The Farmer/DJ broadcasts were horrible.
Besides doing the Sox game broadcasts, I wonder what other duties & involvement North will have on the Score with other shows, interviews, etc? It will be strange hearing North doing White Sox promos on the Score.

I told you guys time & time again over the last few years that North had something big in store & that he would get another major gig. This is going to be fun.

I can't stand Hawk but he is infinitely better than North could ever hope of being. Hawk, while a homer and annoying, knows what he is doing. It would not be possible for anyone to be worse for this job than North. This is by far the most hilariously stupid thing the Sox have ever done. Most board members here would be a better option than North. This is mind blowing absurdity.

I think this will be great. I don't get why people think that the biggest name in Chicago sports radio history doesn't have talent. He didn't just luck into it because there were thousands of guys who had the same chance and failed.

He was just a victim of the Peter Principle. He was very bad at having total control of a show and then continued to make stupid decision after stupid decision in regards to running a show. That's not exactly a shock given that he doesn't have the education level of others who do that kind of job.

I would predict that he ultimately replaces Hawk once he retires.

But in a way he did luck into it. He was in the right place at the right time. The XRT guys happened to come into his hot dog stand which was pretty close to their studios. I'll agree that he made the most of it. But I wouldn't say there were thousands of guys who had the same chance and failed. It was an experiment that worked well for everyone for awhile.

But it's like anything good. Too much of it is usually terrible. It was cool when Eddie Van Halen put both hands on the neck. When every douchebag with a guitar started doing it it became ridiculous. The obvious lack of professionalism and everyman vibe that North had was a breath of fresh air. Now every moron on the air is an unprofessional douche. Except Connor McKnight. That kid has a future.
