Bargnani has cooled off in the second half.

Toronto down 9.

I don't understand Daryl Morey. He has rightfully said many times that .500 is the worst place to be in the NBA yet continually builds teams that are exactly .500ish.

this Lakers-Nuggets game is close, but not very entertaining

AL Harrington has hit a few really big 3's...looks like the Lakers are in trouble yet again

not sure why Mike Brown would even call a timeout here

Nuggets have had about 10 chances to win this game...Lawson missed 2 FT's to tie...then Harrington and Galinari both bricked wide open 3's

still have a chance if they can get a stop here...which is why i'm not sure why Brown calls a TO

If Norris Cole can get MVP chants on a team with Dwayne and Lebron then Kobe should be allowed to get his.

Kobe is gonna make the Lakers title contenders this year. And if the Bulls are out of it in gonna metaphorically wear my purple and gold for it. Yeah I'm drunk already.

yeah you must be drunk....Kobe looks old and slow. i'm not sure i agree with DB's brash contention that they'll miss the playoffs, but they're far from title contenders. bynum being back surely gives them a nice boost, but they have no PG, no bench....basically Kobe, Bynum and Gasol are their big 3...and that's not going to be enough to get it done

The same could be said for Miami last year. And I'm not sure I agree with all of it. Blake can hit threes, Barnes, McRoberts, and Murphy are all solid rotation players on a contender. And you and I are seeing two different versions of Kobe. He has alot more legs than last year and even with a fucked up wrist looks like one of the best players in the league. When his wrist heals up you gotta assume he's only gonna get better.

I might have to change my prediction. Troy Murphy is practically a poor man's Odom.

yeah i think we must be seeing 2 different Kobe's...in the xmas day game he made that foolish turnover that led to the Rose shot then couldn't hit on the last second play...in today's game he missed more clutch shots...i mean he's going to connect once in awhile and he's not completely done, but it's far from automatic. just saying..they look like a .500 team to me. they'll win some games but no way are they going to be contenders

yeah...Murphy is broke

i would say 2-3 years ago he was a solid average-above average rotation guy but now he can't hit shit and he's not even rebounding either

The Kings are a wreck. It will take them a long, long time to dig out of this. Knicks put up 114 on the road. Without Amare. And the great Shumpert.

Nash to the Lakers? Only thing that makes sense to me at this point. Don't they have that huge trade exception from Dallas? 'Course they're probably saving it for Dwight.

Haven't been overwhelmed by any of the games today really.

Tomorrow will be fun.

I think Steve Nash could make Portland title contenders. I'd love to see him play a Kidd-in-Dallas title role and get in a ring.

Shawn Marion misses a wide open layup at the beginning of the game. Typical of Dallas's season thus far.

Yeah 2-4 to start the season is almost impossible to overcome.

It was very stupid to pick Atlanta to miss the playoffs. Kudos to T-Mac and Vinsanity for not looking completely washed up for a night, although Vince is still fat.

Manu out indefinitely with a broken hand. :(

I've been asked a few times who I think is actually an NBA expert in the media. This guy is, and his chats are almost always pretty informative.

I swear to god if I click on that, and it's Bill Simmons, I'm gonna lose it.

Nope, it's not him. It's Skip Bayless.

The first question of the chat demonstrates his basketball expertise.

Josh (Santa Monica)
Thorpedo! Happy 2012 to you and your family. It has only been 2 games but do you think Andrew Bynum is showcasing his skills for other teams (particularly the Magic) because he wants to show them he is worthy of being the No. 1 option and focal point of any offense, or is he simply this good and wants to remain a Laker?

David Thorpe
I think he's just trying to play as well as he can.

Really looking forward to LA/Portland tonight. Portland looks really good so far but Bynum could have another huge night.

It really is sad. When Bosh goes to the bench, it looks like a D League team. This really is pathetic that the Hawks are clinging to such a small lead.

The Hawks deserve to lose this game. Piss poor free throw shooting again.
