Over on the chicagoland radio and media board, the information being brought out is that he is not going to replace DJ. Rather, he will be part of their web content like HawkTV.
Zippy, what's interesting about Chet's take on Bernsy is that I think there is a part of the pot calling the kettle black. I have always enjoyed Chet but he also carried a certain amount of arrogance about himself that did put people off. I remember him not wanting caller interaction on his shows because it revolved around his guests and his thoughts. When having to take the calls, however, Chet did respect their thoughts and did not trounce on them the way Bernsy does. Dan does come off as the smartest man in the room and I think his "enjoyment" in taking calls comes from his love of being able to hammer the stupid. Sadly, there have been a number of times-as documented on this board-where he has just cut off or dismissed callers with good thoughts that went against his line of thought. I think he is very knowledgeable and versatile as a broadcaster. I could see him doing a non-sports talk format. However, I do agree with some of Chet's assessments of him. His abrassiveness and desire to amuse himself regarding callers does tend to turn me off.
