My feelings regarding the Bears are quickly matching my feeling towards the Cubs at the end of the Hendry era. I don't really give a shit as long as Angelo is still the G.M.

I pray to God that Big George pulls a Ricketts/Rocky Wirtz and shakes up the team.

Then again, nothing will probably happen and Angelo will be allowed to go on a Hendry-like spending spree to try for 1 last gasp with this bunch.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

Bears won't be cured of their Jerry Angelou disease until they are sold.

I think they are different, I think Hendry did want the best, but he tried to get the best via a ton of yes good ole buddies. He signed guys to lucrative deals, that made no sense and relied upon too many people he just knew, even when they heard poor records of info.

Angelo relies upon tons of people and none have shown to be really good. Yet, he seems to delegate out of lack of answers. When they hired MArtz, it was because he seemed to be with nobody left on his list and then he lets Martz bring in guys. He lets Tice run the OL, he lets Lovie draft safeties...and they all suck. But even if he lets them all do this, it is his problem.

This is what I don't get w/ Chicago sports teams. Why is that we are the only city that rewards general manager incompetence with contract extensions?

Jerry Angelo: crappy drafts, admitted last yr that the Bears lack talent compared to the more elite teams (why do we forget to mention this? he incriminated himself, ppl), over-payment of mediocre or descending talent (i.e. Mushin Muhammed, Peppers, countless others), and poor talent evaluation. Now, how do they keep this guy accountable?

1.) They give him a contract extension.
2.) They let him hire an underling (who could end up replacing him) who's thought of as nearly as incompetent as he is.

We are living in an economy where friends and loved ones are being laid-off/fired despite their competence. How is it then that a business that pays its employees millions of dollars on average not drop those who are clearly incompetent?

This is what boggles the mind.

Heard from ZZ, the McMouthpiece, that the Bears are one of the original ownership teams, like the Maras and the Rooneys and they have a system, thus they never overreact.

The difference of course is that the other 2 teams win much more! I think the Steelers have won 6 and the Giants 3, plus they have been to a few which they lost! These SB losses are not mentioned in their history, but they are Bears landmarks!

If I hear ZZ bring this shit up again, I'm going to smash my radio. Don't compare a team who has won 1 Super Bowl since 85 to the Steelers, Giants...etc. Here's the bigger question for the ginger haired Honeybear: Would Angelo have ever been considered as a G.M. for any of his comparable teams?

Mediocrity is success with the McCaskeys. Lovie Smith is the king of the middleground. Bears are never too bad or never too great. They are the "perfect" NFL prototype.

Pretty much. The issues with this team at every level, are the same issues year after year. It gets to the point that its all you can say, because the list is so long and so old that I simply cannot remember it all.

But what other fan base wouldn't have run some of these clowns out of town with the inability to get a play into their QB, for years now? And then the response? That kind of shit has me gobsmacked. The field? The field has been an issue since they first laid sod after ditching the turf. Its embarrassing. This is just a rotten organization, from the inside out.

The joke is on us. But it is plenty obvious to everyone else. Where they are ranked as a franchise, being snubbed by free agents and coordinators.

Its time that people on the radio start to get on the same page with this stuff, because that is where it starts. Its time for them to stop dancing around the issue with wondering which McCaskey isn't like the last turd, and finally say what needs to be said. This is a bad organization at every level.
