He's done this several times over the years so not only am I accustomed to it, I fully expected him to make a post like that when I saw him lurking.

I would know better that showing you don't care for a joke is the exact opposite of what you want to do to make something go away. That people here couldn't give a shit about what bothers a person - they want to be the one to take the hilarious shot or keep the undying meme going.

Here's my last word on the issue: It's a goddamn shame that when you're black, well-read, articulate, and educated people feel the need to put the "sellout" tag on you. I find it insulting and I always have. I really don't care about the spirit in which the joke was intended, I will never just accept something like that in stride.

I'm proud to have grown up in the ghettos that I did, and I'm proud that growing up I faced odds and dealt with situations that probably 85% of this board didn't have to deal with. Why? Because it's made me appreciate the things I have now. And I'm also proud of the fact that I've spent my entire adult life working my ass off to make sure my son doesn't have to grow up the way I did. So, if that makes me a "Carlton" then so be it. I'd personally choose my life over the pampered, sheltered life that many here have had.

Like I said, I know who my friends are. The rest of you fakes will be treated as you deserve.
