anybody hear santo during this play? that had to be hilarious

How would u know, Frank, what Santo would've sounded like on such a play? Staunch White Sox fan that you are. I'd have never thought you would have EVER wasted your time in such a lowely fashion as listening to a Cubs radio call.

knocking him off the base isn't what Harry was arguing. Plus that didn't happen. He was saying time should be called and he should be able to come off the base. That's just not an MLB rule

I would have called Harry stupid if this happened to the Sox. That has nothing to do with it.

Most of you guys that are knocking Harry are Sox fans. Of course you don't give a Fu(k. It's a play that no one has ever seen and they could have called it different. His tag knocked him off the base.

The ump said he's seen it before.

If you think that Eckstein's tag knocked Cedeno off the base, you need to watch the play again. Eckstein didn't touch him until he slid off the base.

I enjoyed the Cubs fans that called up and told Harry to zip it, that he wasn't doing anything to help the public's perception of Cubs fans as a bunch of clueless rubes.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I don't understand why both Lou and Cedeno are saying he should have looked back at home plate. I know this was discussed on the show yesterday afternoon, but I missed part of it. With Ceneno stealing and being 1/2 way down the line to second, what's to gain by looking at first?

I heard Santo on the TV during the botched bunt attempt by Blanco in the 7th and he was very controlled, basically saying talk about changing an inning. I'm sure it was different on the radio.

North Shore, you must have been sleep deprived yesterday.

A) Nobody said he should look back at first base.

B) Get some sleep, and congrats! :)

You never look at home plate when you are trying to steal a base. You keep your head down and head to that base. Looking back will only slow you down. The only time you look is when the hit and run is on.

That's the way some coaches teach it. And others teach it, like Lou, to take a quick peek, not just for ball 4 but also to make sure you know if the ball is hit in the air.

i was taught '3 steps and a look' but also told to listen for the crack of the bat or the umpire's call.

My favorite part was when Harry said "Well the umps can give it to him...." like it was up to thier discretion.

What a jag.

eh, he was wrong, but i think it was more of a knee jerk reaction...like "oh my god. why did this idiot just do something like that? now they have just killed thier chance at a rally and are gonna lose this game for sure." more frustration than anything. i felt the same way after that thames HR yesterday, and the appaling lack of execution from konerko all day long, and AJ on that "bunt" in the 10th
