Regarding Darkside's shots you reference, it's been a different experience best characterized as a roller coaster. Initially, I would be very hurt and upset. Later, I just became more angry than hurt, and would counter with his same level of vitriol. I found this to be an unsustainable existence, so I did my best to ignore his attacks (I admittedly put him on ignore more than once, but would subsequntly reverse this, because it was too tempting not to be able to read what he was saying).

In late 2009, I realized that my emotional reactions to his personal assaults were a jumbled, convolution of being hurt, angry and strong desire to "get even". Once I accepted the impact he was having on my life (and I'm not talking about the board, NSJ, internets, etc --- my real emotions and feelings), I knew I had to take a step back and reassess why I felt the way I did.

By last year, I realized that I was taking things here a bit too seriously and tried my best to ignore it. For the first few months, I thought I was ignoring his abuse, but I realized I was in denial. In fact, I was only pretending to be unaffected. I quicly learned that the only person I was fooling was myself.

As the year waned I made a committment to myself to let it all "roll off my back" and have remained firm in that posture for the past 100 days or so . . . so I've got that going for me.

Anyway, NSJ, there was and is only one reason why I HAD a problem with you. And I really don't care anymore at this point. I got way too much other shit going on to deal with someone as ridiculously insignificant as you are to me at this point.
So you don't have to worry about any more of these hurtful personal attacks.
