I've noticed the few news chicks I've seen in person are always better looking. Even Ann Kavanaugh from FOX TV she looks like an old hag but in person she's a definite MILF. I've seen both in person and Burton gets the clear nod on looks. Plus she also gives off a dumb, trampy vibe whereas Brooks clearly presented herself as the kind of chick who would bang you only if it would benefit her professionally. What I've heard (as alluded to by B&B) is that Jim Rose has a penchant for being surrounded by beautiful interns. One or more of these interns might have wound up horizontally on his desk, which Cheryl wasn't too happy about (this is all pure rumor and speculation).

Burton graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana with a B.S. degree in Psychology and Biology. While there she was a member of the Marching Illini, one of the nation's premiere college marching bands and had the opportunity to march in the Rose Bowl and the Liberty Bowl. She lives in Chicago

So it appears that she was at Illinois in the early 80's (don't think Illinois has made the Rose Bowl since then).

I thought i recall Otis Wilson mentioning her being on the Honey Bears.

I also have dvd recording of the 85 NFC Championship game and early in the game you can see her, and if it is not her, someone that looks just like her.

I can agree with this part. There is no way in the world I will believe that the woman who appears to be in a continual state of confusion has a degree in Biology.

The age thing is why I said the time was ticking on that bomb. She was a Honey Bear and the Illini went to the Rose Bowl in 81 against UCLA. However, that would put her at 46, give or take a few years. Could she really be THAT old. If so, she has aged very, very well.

I'm certain that Burton is in her 40s. I remember reading in Feder's column a few years ago that she was 38. Intellectually, though, she appears to be the age of a young pineapple.

I've never seen Jackie in RL, but I've met a former WGN guy who just came back from a stint doing national work (you fill in the blanks) who said if you think she looks good on TV, you should see her in person.
