Did you know Nick Boynton was the MVP of the 1999 Memorial Cup (major-junior hockey's big coming-out party like March Madness)? I didn't either until last night! Even though he made decent money in the pros, Jen is married to a guy whose life peaked in high school. It's like a Springsteen song writ very, very large.

Actually, I'd say it's more like an episode of Married....With Children.

Neither Boynton nor Jiggles possesses the gravitas to be real or imagined subject matter of a Springsteen song.

After reading this thread I'll never be able to hear a WSCR producer talk about hanging in the club w the fine ladies or trips to Vegas and not crack up....credit card debit is a bitch.
Maybe North bought the diapers for Goff to buff his "luxury sports car".

After hearing these tales of how broke all these guys are don't the Matta Batta ads for a Radio College almost seem criminal?

How about Rock?

Mike never bought my kid diapers or formula......did all that on my own.

Mike did however pay me on the side when I did work for him.....but at the time of the MNMS split from the score....I was not a father at that time.

So....wasn't me. Sorry!

As I mentioned, I'm doing fine right now. I left the Score because even as a full-time producer, the money was awful. I loved it there, it's what I worked for, but I couldn't justify the hours I worked with the salary I made to my wife or myself anymore. So I took a chance. It failed. Lesson learned.

Just curious, how much was "awful"? Just a ballpark figure.

Dude- you should write a book about your life with Mike North. I'd bet it would sell more than Norths book! A dozen or so should do it!

Rock, Has your station in Tampa had to deal with a lot of idiot Tim Tebow fans calling in?

I don't think I'll be writing any books anytime time soon. Too much to do here in Tampa.

Love your avatar, Rock! Great picture of you and your son.

Hope you are doing well in Florida.

Laurence Holmes has made it clear--now that you're several hundred miles away--that he doesn't like you.

When Joe O. started his current pairing with Connor, Laurence commented--on multiple occasions--how much better the show sounded with Connor. The reference to you was obvious.

To embellish his point, he elaborated by saying that he "never had much use for the other guy (you)," thought there was "something wrong" with you, and that he was glad you "were gone."

This seems to be a growing pattern for Laurence. Whenever someone leaves the station, it seems like he'll trash them--provided he doesn't think they're listening.

He's right, Rock.

Tough Guy Larry has been taking shots at the departed for some time now, what a piece of shit.

-Top Larry Failures-

1.)Can't come up with the "4 Huge Stories" he broke from 2004 Bears training camp.
2.)Kisses ass and sucks schlong.
3.)Creeps the chicks the fuck out.
4.)Teary
5.)Is condescending when speaking about other employees like Goff to make himself feel like a real man.

Feel free to add some more.

Well....I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.

All I know is I brought it every time I cracked the mic. That's all I could ask for, and the reviews I got from numerous people in the industry were all positive.

That's all I know....or care to know.

I've always been on good terms with LWH.......and am happy that the Score has stuck with him....says a lot to see the progress he has made in his career.

Come on Rock, stop playing the role of Les Grobstein. Say something about someone or something you didn't like from your days at The Score.

:)

You're a nice guy, Rock. And I'm sure you would beat Lawrence's ass. If he didn't stab you first.

Whoa.

Two dreams cited there

Dream 1: Laurence stabbing white people

Dream 2: Rock being able to take Laurence

FWIW, I thought you significantly improved during your tenure as a Score weekend host. The solo shows that preceded your departure were quite strong. You maintained focus and clarity while still being entertaining. That's not easy to do.

Funny thing is that Rock is working his way up the Management ladder, Larry might need a job one day, these things have a way of coming around. I didn't hear Loho say what he is alleged to have said but I will say Rock and Joe was a very good show and now with Connor its not to bad either and to cap it off, Rock has the better weather now.

Yeah. I almost feel bad ripping him. He might be the nicest guy in the world but his sports thoughts and delivery are just terrible. No sense of humor, no sense of timing and no good sports thoughts.

Other than that he's good.

Joe O and Rock was NEVER a good show

Why does Larry hate Rock? That's the question. Rock doesn't know. I think I've got the answer.

Larry is a Bernstein follower. For years Bernstein has been hating on the overweight, tattooed, uneducated white man. Larry has adopted this hate. Bernstein told him to hate this kind of white, so Larry hates this kind of white. It's really that simple. I know it sounds crazy but I'll bet it's true. Bernstein has a strong hold over Larry. Like Hitler had over his followers. Sorry Rock. Now you know what it's like to be discriminated against. :(
