Paraphrasing
"Im hearing guys like Hub Arkush going to great lengths to rip a guy just for being associated with Angelo

Really these guys (Hub) have no clue what theyre talking about"

and then Pompei and him recalled hanging with Oliver Stone at a media event.

Ive said it before and Ill reitirate, Mully is good. Mully could be part of a GREAT radio show. His stories are good and he knows football more than anyone else at the station.

Starting to think Hanley is bringing him down.

Neither of them are funny but Mulligan could pass for mildly amusing next to a better host.

Mac jumping in this feud is an attention grab. Its not a teamwork issue. Hub is reporting without knowledge (according to Mulligan)

Is Mac saying that a host shoudnt call out a reporter if theyre wrong about something? Doesnt sound like something a guy who calls himself Dangerous Dan would worry about

disagree on mulligan being part of anything great..hanley is not funny and neither is mulligan..hanley knows college and pro football, mlb and nfl and a little hoops..mulligan knows the bears..thats it..and im not sure he knows much more than you or i on the bears..mulligan had no idea angelo was in any kind of danger.hanley is not good and mully is probably worse.

if hub is saying that ruskell is a bum then i agree and jerry was a bad evaluater at talent whether it is players or coaches or front office operations..so i agree that being associated with angelo can be toxic..what was hub's quote? what is it that hub has "no idea" what he is talking about?

mulligan strikes me as a know it all halas hall ass kisser who is too lazy to get his own coffee and quick to snap on a producer or intern because he cranky at 4am.

They should rip on Ruskell. He was a water carrier and fucking terrible at his job when he actually had some responsibility and decision making powers. Hub, BernSTINE, Mac and the rest have every right in the fucking world to tear this idiot to shreds. He has no business being a GM, he got run out of Seattle for setting the franchise back (he wasn't the only one with blood on his hands, though) and he was brought in by the Bears by the guy that got fired for setting the Bears back and leaving next to no dry powder. Horrible.

Fuck you Mulligan. Please stop sucking Ruskell's cock, mailing him love letters and for the love of god stop letting him dress you up in a dress and make-up like your his prison bitch. You're the one who doesn't know what he's fucking talking about, blindly defending a blatant failure and questioning others for telling the truth about the matter. You and Pompeii are shameless, absolutely fucking shameless in your little dick sucking segment this morning or whenever, just horrible.

In short, Mully, Ruskell is a failure and ruins everything he touches whether it be teams, coffee, oil changes....he isn't good at his job and it has been documented for all to see. You are also abdicating your responsibility as a reporter, please separate your liking of the man, his anus and musk from him being bad at life and give us the truth, stop running cover to preserve your relationship with the man that may very well put the final stake in the Bears heart. Pompeii is a jackshit-sandwich so he doesn't need to be commented on.

Also, Mully is bad at his job as well. He is equal parts shit on the morning show. With a different partner and a shit ton of practice he could be decent. But he hasn't shown any growth. Same dumbshit talk, same bad comedy, some stupidity. His stories can be good and funny but that's it. A nugget of prime rib wrapped in shit and lettuce.

That coffee story is hilarious. Pretty sure the only thing we know is Mully was mad about coffee and then like 4 months later he took a shot at Herb on air.

Anyway, Hanley knows absolutely nothing. Not one thing. He brings the idiotic fan's perspective, thats it. He never says anything interesting, his jokes are terrible, and he's not a good judge of anything related to sports

Mulligan seemingly has a lot of inside info on the NFL. I hear things from him all the time that I dont hear from anyone else on Chicago radio. He's pretty valuable in a time like this too because he knows a lot of the front office guys.

Hub has basically dismissed Ruskell as being Angelo all over again. Pompei and Mulligan disagreed with this and their main point being, if the connection to Angelo is the only bad thing, you dont really have a point.

the only reasoning to say good things about ruskell is to expect some appreciation from him in the future as an inside source to jenson and mulligan..the writing is on the wall and these guys see that ruskell is the favorite to land this job.

Actually I read thru that whole thread and the subject of the feud was never even discussed much less detailed.

I think this is Mulli vs Hub. Mac trying to get into it is secondary.

Angelo = Bad
Ruskell = Bad +possibly worse w/ a poor history of performance.

Angelo can't really draft or run a team properly which makes sense when one looks at him bringing in Ruskell after he we chased out of Seattle. Hub has a point, and a fair one, that Ruskell is Angelo because both are bad.

And what "Inside Info" that is so earth shaking that Mully just spits out all day long? I mean, really? He is kissing ass or worse he is letting his relationships get in the way of fair reporting and an objective look at a failed (Failed, I say!) former GM ore whatever from Seattle. That dick sucking segment was either a huge TELL that Ruskell will be in a position of power soon or Mully and Pompeii have a crush on the guy.

I agree that Hanley sucks, but Mully deserves a ton of blame for that show being bad, and at times, unlistenable. Some "inside info" if you can call it that, a few stories and decent guests aren't enough to salvage the other 90% of the show, which is dogshit.

Mac spitting fire on Mully was.....interesting, but the Mully vs Hub is just that. Although with Mac getting involved and stirring the pot things may get interesting.

Yeah, Im not saying anything about Ruskell.

Its a bit refreshing for one guy to go at another guy on the station by name.

They usually take the passive aggressive route, like

"Some people keep saying...."

And the Oliver Stone story was a side story. Mulligan has a lot of unique stories to say the least.

thanks for the link.... pompei "they won a superbowl his first year"..no they did not dope
so pompei, jenson and mulligan are in line to suck ruskells dick for a future halas hall source that won't give any of these clowns any real inside scoops and ignore ruskells past performance. but i agree at least mully calls hub out by name and not the usual "hear people" saying...

No, thats the problem. Linking him to Angelo is not the way to go about it. You can easily list his Seattle stuff as reason.

But like I said, I dont agree with the Ruskell take. I just like the guys on the station going at it.

You are confusing the subjects. Maybe I didnt separate them clearly enough

The inside info/good stories is separate from this whole Ruskell/Hub thing.

The stories are good. Not sure what else to say. Most of them are from when he was on the Beat. Weird stories about players, running into Oliver Stone, drunken conversations with guys who are GM's now.

Mac is like me. He heard that this morning and thought it was cool. THAT is sportsradio man. Two guys on the same station going after eachother by name.

The whole teamwork angle was the only way Mac could squeeze himself in to the latest "thing" on the station

Yeah pompei may have been drunk. He was weaving Angelo's history with Ruskell as one person. When he said Super Bowl, I thought "Seattle lost" but then he was listing Bucs players and Im like "Oh he's talking about Angelo"

Ruskell is terrible. Mulligan calling out Hub by full name is good.

I didn't confuse anything. Mully is bad, that's what I was commenting on. His stories and earthshaking "inside info" (AKA "nuggets and tidbits) isn't really all that great. He sucks. Now, with that being said his stories are good but that makes up 1% of the show.

Moving along, I do agree that him starting shit with Hub and not being a bitch about it is pretty cool. I've felt the heat between many "players" at 670 over the radio waves and this was the most real shot yet. Full name, full call out, pretty cool. Mac getting involved is good because he will amplify it and cause more trouble which is OK in my book which is mostly pictures.

Call it what you want. You wrote a paragraph denying he has inside info and supporting it with why he is on Ruskell's side.

Those are two separate issues for our purposes here....and like I said maybe it was I who didnt separate them properly in the first place.

Dont have to be such a "Hagar" about it...

There are a lot of what I'd call quintessential "Chicago guys" who post on this message board- bigfan, Aggravated Bob, good dolphin, etc. I think all those guys could do a good radio show. My main beef with Mully is that he seems to be a Chicago guy too, but you wouldn't really know it by listening. He's Southsider, Brother Rice guy, I think, went to Loyola, hardcore Sox fan, but his show doesn't reflect that. It seems more like a national show. And then there's the ridiculous English crap. That's more foreign than Mike & Mike could ever be. So I find it ironic that the Score often promotes its morning show as being Chicago-centric.

I believe the problem is that Mully considers himself a journalist and thus, doesn't want to be a guy who roots for the local teams. I think he sees himself as a newspaper guy first and the radio thing as a side gig. It's as ridiculous as Rozner trying to tell us he doesn't pull for the Hawks or the Cubs. Say what you will about Joe Cowley, he doesn't have these twentieth century journalistic pretensions in a world where they've long gone by the wayside and all the lines have been blurred. Not only does he root for the Steelers, he'll mock you when they beat your team and cry like a bitch when they lose.

There's definitely something to be said for guys like North and Murph who have never been inside a pressbox.

Oh I am sure we could do a show, but don't get me wrong, I understand the work and mental drain it takes for these guys to at least try and seem prepared.

Mully is totally Chicago. he is 2nd generation American and his old man watched (or tried to watch Soccer) all the time or follow it, so he is into Soccer.

Almost all the guys who work with me are Soccer guys and could care less about bears, Cubs, Sox , Hawks, etc...all except caller Gary (Not Gary from Evanston) thick irish accent calls Mully sometimes in the 6 Am hour..thats my plumber...Love the Bears.

As for Rozner and a number of Media types, they have grown detached from the teams they loved and they see the inner workings and know it is just not that hard to do...most I am sure think they could do it...and I think many could.

It's like idolizing athletes until you become old enough to know what idiots most are or actually interact with some and you are shocked at the level of stupid in most.

And I heard SOMEGUY got a M&H T shirt!

I know he's totally Chicago. I want him to be who he is on his radio show and stop talking about his giddy Aunt.

As far as soccer goes, a lot of us play it as kids. Then we grow up into American men and watch futbol Americano. I think Mully played at Loyola. I don't know what kind of team they had, but I was on the best team in the Chicago area in high school and I don't remember anyone on Brother Rice that I thought was any good. Quigley South had a brother who was a motherfucker though. I don't think we ever lost a game in Chicago. Lost twice in Granite City. But Quigley South was tough. We played them on a forty degree day in a nasty drizzle and were lucky to come away with a 2-2 tie. One of our forwards, a guy named Wally Chimiak scored with almost no time left to get us the tie. It's funny the shit you remember sometimes.

Mulligan's best stories seem to surround his years following the 90-93 Bulls. They rarely have anything to do with the game of basketball, just like now how the rare good nugget he drops has nothing to do with sports. Imo, he is among the worst columnists/reporters in the city. No value whatsoever.

I don't care about soccer, I don't want to hear about his family (except the kid who briefly had a commercial ), I don't want to hear his peculiar Irish/British stories, nor do I care that he may or may not be a south sider. He has an alternating dull and then grating on air persona, and the morning show is a direct reflection of such. And I actually consider Hanley to be somewhat likable....and previously even occaisionally funny, so what else can I say?

Imo, he is the worst (except for the abomination that was North) morning host in the history of the Score.

Wait....he is better than Shaer. Not that that says much.

i doubt mulligan is from the south side and not even sure he is from chicago... i have heard mulligan talk about his playing days at loyola on the soccer field and assumed it was the university... other than loho mulligan is at the bottom of the talent pool..i don't think i have ever thought one of his stories was mildly amusing..mulligan is the reason i have not listened in maybe 6 weeks..the guy is awful

I just told you where he was from and where he went to high school and college. Did you think I was lying? He just seems like he grew up on Downton Abbey.

No. Mully has been on the Bears beat forever and has much better sources than Hub. Hub was condescendingly insisting that Chad Hutchinson was the starter and giving that "knowing" chuckle to those who disagreed at the same time Mully was reporting that Hutchinson had been cut. Guys like Mully and Biggs know way more than Hub. I would even go so far to say that Zaidman knows more about the Bears than Hub does even though he's a house man who isn't going to tell you everything he knows and is going to spin things to put the Bears in the best light.

Didnt you just pretty much name every morning host ever?

Anyways, we'll throw Mulligan on the giant pile of people you find useless
