You may not know him by name, but the voice is very recognizable to classic TV viewers. He's Dick Tufeld, who had a long career as an actor, narrator & announcer. Tufeld was most synonymous as the "Robot" on the classic TV series "Lost in Space" from 1965-68 and a role he reprised in the 1998 feature film of the same name. Tufeld also narrated other Irwin Allen-produced series such as "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" and "The Time Tunnel".

As the "Robot", Tufeld was the guy who always said "WARNING! WARNING!" along with "DANGER! Will Robinson!", plus was on the receiving end of insults from Jonathan Harris' character "Dr. Zachary Smith" on the classic sci-fi series, seen Saturday nights at 7p on WWME 23 locally and stations along the MeTV Network coast to coast.

Tufeld was also the narrator on several Saturday morning action cartoon series of the late '70s & early '80s such as "The Fantastic Four", "Spider-Woman", "Thundarr the Barbarian" & "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends".

Tufeld, who got his start in radio in 1950 & was also a cancer survivor, passed away Sunday at an area hospital in Los Angeles. According to Tufeld's "Lost in Space" co-star Bill Mumy, who played "Will Robinson" on the classic sci-fi series, Tufeld died of Parkinson's Disease at age 85.
