Spiegs definitely responded to the Twitterer rather than to the tweet. bernstein's remark was just a lighthearted little joke. If Mac had said the same thing, I doubt Spiegs would have gotten chippy. But bernstein is who he is. He walks around the world high-handed, smarmy, and jerky, how does he expect others to react? Maybe he should stop being so know-it-ally. Bad at human interaction. Bad. Just... bad.

I wouldn't exactly say that. Imagine you had to interact with a co-worker everyday and that co-worker obviously had no respect for you. Now imagine that he displayed that lack of respect in front of the entire company and anyone else who wanted to listen. You might take the opportunity to smack such a guy via Twitter if the chance arose. Of course, it all may just be shtick- theater of the mind.

There are two posters that recently were having a very similar issue. They were being nice to someone or asking a question and got a basic fuck off reply, both of them didn't understand because their question or comment wasn't mean or anything, but they didn't understand that by being a dick day in and day out people treat their honest comments like they come from an asshole, because basically, they do.

If, as a parent, you cannot maintain a sense of humor then you are doomed to failure and misery.

These little bundles of joy quickly become surly teenagers. The overly-earnest-can't-make-fun-of-kids crowd does not seem to realize that.

I think Speigel was trying to be funny. He's just bad at it. And Bernstein is just kind of a tool. Neither is bad just the way they are. They are so different they might as well be speaking different languages.

I would say on Spiegel, especially since he's found out he's having a child, he takes everything so personal and needs to maybe lighten up a little.

Like the when the Penn State stuff happenend, Spiegel didn't even want to pay attention or watch College Football, and I think if Mac had a diffrent partner, he would have pulled out that Penn State will get Sandukyed in a game sooner, probably sparing his partner's feelings.

Also, when he was with Laurence Holmes on the day, the Sam Hurd stuff came out also. It's like his whole tone changes when stuff like that happens.

I would agree that Monday's transition should be fun.
