Obviously Santo was more entertaining, but do you enjoy listening to Moreland?

No, he is boring, monontone and boring, did I mention he is boring? But it does not sound sound like him and Pat want to just tell each other to fuck off every inning either.

I didn't mind Moreland when he subbed for Brenly over the past few years. But the radio gig just isn't working. If Ricketts wanted to save some cash, he could have Pat up there by himself and I'd be ok with it.

Moreland is okay as a color guy. Just okay. Ballpark figure, as it were, I'd give him a 5.5/10. Dave Otto is a 5, so at least you're coming out a little bit ahead. Santo gets !DIVZEROERROR, because you can't apply any sort of rating scale to what he brought. It wasn't meant to be a traditional broadcast, and it wasn't.

Where he falters is on pxp in the 5th, which is aggravated by having Judd Sirott, a solid play-by-play voice, try to offer color commentary while the ex-jock tries to call the game. It's totally backward, and I suspect Keith pushed for that inning because he thinks he's more than he is, what with his experience calling Texas football. But this isn't Texas football, this is verbally painting the picture of the Chicago Cubs. You have to be good, even if only for an inning.

The closest thing to a spiritual successor to Ron is probably Mark Grace. He should be rambling and groaning with us.

That's who I thought should be his replacement. As for the Cubs TV broadcast I think those guys are pretty solid and Brenly is not afraid to call the players out.

He's okay to me nothing to write home to your grandma about but not horrible either. I also think he got better as the seaon wore on.

He's only holding the seat for Dempster down the road anyway. Worst kept secret in Chicago.

My dream combo would be Hughes and Brenly. But I do like Len.

I wrote my grandmother a nice detailed letter about my thoughts on Keith Moreland and she told me to go fuck myself.

Bring back the corpse of Lou Boudreau.

Why can't Chicago get ONE decent goddamn baseball radio announcer? Is it so freaking hard?

isn't this why kerry wood signed the "personal services" contract? he wants a taste of that milkshake, proverbially speaking.

Hughes is OK. Serviceable. Not like he's Ernie Harwell or anything. Though anyone competent stands out like a sore thumb around here. Yes, he'd probably be better alone, without having to deal with a moron beside him.

Farmio and DJ? That's got to be the worst combo in MLB history.

Personally I think Hughes is really good. But different strokes for different folks I guess. I agree with you on Farmer and DJ. When I start up the car and it is tuned to 670 still and I catch a few pitches of Sox baseball its atrocious.

Do you think DJ was better on TV than the radio? I get the feeling that Farmer doesn't care for him sometimes.
