I didn't see this already as a thread so I decided to make one. Forgive me if it was broached in a tangent somewhere else.

Was just listening to an NPR segment where a guy from the Tribune I think was talking about movies that guys cry at (and admit it). I think his name is John Cass? Anyway...

I guess some of these I'm risking embarassment, but I think that's the point...

so light 'em up. I'll start with a few off the top of my head that got me:

"Glory", "Braveheart", "My Girl", "Brian's Song" (original), "Avalon", and "Beaches". Just like Seinfeld's girlfriend. It got me.

The fact that Brian's Song was in the first post isn't surprising in the least.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
got to me.

I'm all over Glory, I couldn't even comprehend watching that twice. C.H.O.M.P.S. was gut wrenching as a kid. My mom assured me the dog wouldn't die, not only did it die, it friggin' blew up. Maybe Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon too. I'm sure there are more but I try and keep them out of mind. Oh yeah, the Transformers Movie when Optimus Prime died.

-Rudy-the Maintenance Man looks on, claps twice, walks away, swings his arm. Great stuff right there.
-My Life-Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman. Batman is dying of cancer, his wife is pregnant, he makes a video for his unborn son.
-Brian's Song
-Saving Private Ryan-"Earn this"
-Braveheart-"FREEDOM!!!!"

I'm sure there are more. I'm a big pussy.

Oscar clip. How sad is it that I own the 20th anniversary dual-disc DVD of that movie? And even though I know Michael Bay is going to kill that movie, I'll still see it.

What's sad is that not only am I going to see it, but I'll be taking my seven year-old nephew too. We apparently have the same interests, like velcro shoes and peanut butter and jelly. I'm pathetic...

Me too and I don't really understand why. It seems to be a pretty obscure move so I'm surprised you mentioned it. Great film though.

"eternal sunshine of the spotless mind"--very good film. i didn't get very teary eyed but i liked it a lot.

here's a strange one - "edward scissorhands" gets me choked up, too, at the end. another one the tim burton front, "big fish".

I'm with you on Forrest Gump, Bulldog. It also happens to be one of my favorite movies.

I completely forgot about Big Fish. Need to download that one as I haven't seen it in a couple of years. Another great movie.

Yes, Forrest Gump, although I'd never admit it if I was using my real name on this board! The grave scene always gets me, and it is also one of my favorite movies.

Let me be the first to say that it would be wrong to call a man gay or a fag if they cry during a movie.

.....just trying to use words that no one else can.

When his dad asks him to play catch? Yeah, that's a good one.

"Remember the Titans" when Julius goes to see Gary in the Hospital.

"Miracle" got me pretty good

So did "The Rookie" when he told his son that he was going to the Majors.

I guess there's something about Disney sports movies.
