I tried Hop Slam and I thought it was OK, but not worth $18 A FUCKING SIX PACK. I thought Gumball head was much better actually and $6 cheaper.

Except for Dark Lord of course. I salivate everytime I think of drinking that stuff. I love Gumball Head and Pride and Joy. Haven't had Robert The Bruce yet. I highly suggest that if any of you up north have the time to make the hour or so trek to 3 Floyd's, that you do it. Good food too.

I hung out with Mac and his high school buds there once, including Loud Queen.

They should name one of their brews after him.

Hop Wallop was my go to sixer for a while. Can't beat 11.99 for six of those. An entire 4 or 5 episodes of that show has made DFH much harder to come by these days.

Hopslam is overpriced and overhyped in my book -- and I prefer IPAs over almost anything. I agree with whomever suggested going to non-Binny's mom and pops, preferably ones that have just opened or ones that stock craft beer in less than ideal neighborhoods/strip malls. Binny's sells out of everything/has people hovering in the lobby 2 hours before the shipment is supposed to come in, while the Hopslam was sitting in this one store (now out of business) for ever.

I will try out that Imperial, UMN. I really like their west coast IPA.

Last year, heading up to the Founders release of KBS, we stopped in the 3F Brewpub on the way and a friend and I split a pitcher of Zombie Dust... they had three different single hop varieties that day (or more accurately, beers that featured a particular hop) and we got a growler of some other thing to take with to the hotel -- I want to say it was named Cortez -- and then we both had about two sips of it and said we screwed up big time -- should have got a ZD to go.

Probably headed up to the Founders release again. I still haven't opened the case from last year.

Yeah. They are usually a couple bucks cheaper than most of the smaller places.

They took over the Armanetti's by us. Armanetti's was awesome.

Hop Wallop is great. I have a couple left in the fridge.

I usually go with 2 Imperials, or Hop Juices when I can get them, and then go to the Hop Wallops until I pass out.

Yeah. My dad had like a case of this shit in the garage fridge. Always told people there was beer out there when they came over. No one drank the shit. I ended up taking about 12 of them myself. This was... 1992 or so maybe? Probably long after they went to pop tops but these fuckers were still pull offs. I guess they were old.

Actually, it's surprising TF doesn't charge more than they do. The fact is, they've had to scale back their distribution range, because their beer was selling out too fast when they had it in more stores. One of my friend's is really into Gumballhead, and he wanted to pick up a bunch of it for a party; he went to 10 liquor stores and was only able to get several six packs. TF sells ZombieDust at the brewpub for $10 a sixpack or $35 a case, and they sell out at that price in a matter of hours. They could easily get $20 a six pack for ZombieDust, but they for whatever reason don't.

They've actually had really good deals on their stuff at several liquor stores in my area, which is good, because Alpha King is my go-to. $7.99 a six pack. But I'm pretty close to the pub, and it's available all over the area. Supply and demand.

Those are really reasonable numbers....not what I remember. Maybe it was the stores jacking the price up. I think I only saw things in bombers though and not six packs.

They do sell a variety of very-high-priced bombers. Those are the limited run beers, though. I suppose it's lack of supply driving those prices; I never buy them either, that's just too much to be spending on beer.
