By the way, what are you wearing tonight Kid?

You've just succeeded at making me as uncomfortable as I made you last week. Good work.

I actually started a thread on this back in late 2009. I don't think you were posting at the time. It was a "What is everyone wearing?" thread on a boring weeknight.

Despite the fame and fortune that comes with being considered an object of worship for an adoring public in the end we find that even celebrities die too.

Pfft.. she dies the day before the grammys. This was planned so she gets a big tribute.

I'm not being insulting but I'm amazed how many people are clueless about things that are going on in the world break down when a celebrity dies. I saw someone post that they still hadn't recovered from MJ's death and now they have to deal with this. I had someone in my family send me a text saying they loved me because she died.

for me it's just that another part of my childhood died...i wasn't going to go out and get her next album if she put one out. that's what these deaths (MJ, corey haim, whitney) mean to me...hard to explain. but i certainly don't have sympathy for her, either.

I'm not sure but I think WZ just said he was affected because Corey Haim was a big part of his life at one point.

Nas, you're a cold dude but I already kinda knew that anyway so it is what it is.

I'm far from cold. I make no apologies for not worshipping these people who you all cry about. There are many other things I would rather be sad or cry about. I figured you were one of them Bez. Her death doesn't impact my life in any way. You made better music recently.

No need to be insulting, my friend. I'm not crying about anybody. I'm just expressing the opinion that I think it's unfortunate when a 48 year old dies, regardless of whether or not the damage was self-inflicted.

Michael Jackson was a drug addict too. I still found his death to be unfortunate.

But I do appreciate the compliment on the music. Thank you man.

exactly..if you want to feel sorry for someone take a walk through children's memorial cancer ward..those kids had no choice/chance and most won't make 10.

what are the chances that some/most of those drugs that killed her were prescribed by a "doctor"

Mr. Reason was similarly crushed when Beethoven died. Very emotional day for a middle age Reason.

She gave crack everything she had. Clearly the way she wanted to leave.

I'm with Nas on this. Sure its a sad story, but she was likely on borrowed time anyway. A lot sadder are the 20 or 30 something soldiers who have been KIA this week.

First thing I thought of when I heard the news was the old clip from her reality show with Bobby Brown The Soup used to always show where she looks at the camera and says "Kiss my ass!"

They may actually go up. I know the expectation is for the demand to drop since Whitney isn't buying as much but look for other drug users and people who want to kill themselves to increase the demand after seeing how well it worked for her. A lot of crack dealers will start pushing that "Whitney Houston". It's a great time to get in on that.
