This will be a fun meeting. Imagine if you own a bar that you invested a ton of cash in and the Cubs are walking away for a season.

That season would suck for them, but all the Cubs have to say is "well, either we walk away for one season or build a new stadium elsewhere and walk away permanently." Course maybe they would have to charge $2 for a bottle of beer instead of $5!

They would be fools to consider the latter. Those bars have made millions off of the Cubs. So they need to deal with it for the one season.

Maybe some of those bars could bring in bands to keep some people coming in, but certain people in Wrigleyville don't seem to like loud music either.

Maybe Ricketts can get taxpayer dollars to hand out to the impacted businesses. Not much difference between that and the Cubs getting taxpayer dollars.
