What is the benefit? It took me twice as long, even in rush hour, to take the train to the Cell than it did to drive. If it wasn't rush hour, it was 3 times as long. That was a good thing. Also, the trains stopped running so early that if I missed the last train I was screwed.

Public transportation isn't convenient for a lot of people. I fail to see how having more options to get to a game is a bad thing.

I'm gonna take a stand here: both stadiums are in the same city, therefore I believe strongly that they have the same number of options for people trying to get to them.

The Cell is much easier to drive to than Wrigley. Columbus Ave to Western, Western to Pershing, Pershing to Princeton (or the alley up against the tracks) and into the parking lots. 30 minutes, tops during rush hour. 20 minutes during the weekends. Yeah you pay to park, but bring a grill and BYOB, watch a game, catch a fireworks show. #winning

There are also a number of places in the burbs where you can take a Pace bus for like $3 each way, Drops you off right in front of the park and leaves 1/2 hour after the game ends.

I get to the Cubs game 99% of the time by car. I park there. Sometimes in a Cubs owned lot, sometimes not.

You lose. The owner of the parking lot doesn't change the number of options for getting to that stadium. Which is what the statement was.


We could argue about the number of transfers needed on public trans too, but in the end it would still be an option for getting to each stadium.

Of course it does, as does having a general parking lot available that doesn't require a prepurchased pass. I understand that there are literally parking spaces within walking distance of Wrigley Field. However, if I buy a ticket on stubhub for a Saturday game I don't think I can consider driving to Wrigley Field and parking there an option. I can easily do that for US Cellular.

If you get there early enough you can just go north of Irving Park or West of Ashland and street park.

Never been to that one. Been to Joliet and Kane County a few times. Minor league baseball really is a lot of fun, and most teams have newer stadiums which helps.

When I am choosing between a game at Joliet or Kane County, I often look on the internet to see which place has the better parking lots.

Wow. Hundreds of parking spaces! How stupid I was to think that parking at Wrigley wasn't a realistic option for most people. They can literally fit hundreds of cars for a stadium of over 35,000 people!
