Yeah driving on the Dan Ryan to a Sox game can blow too even though its right off the highway. Big cities have traffic issues. Also water is wet.

I just never understood the whole nightmare to get to Wrigley Field argument. Yes, if you are driving, it's bad. But you are an idiot if you drive to that park. You can take the Metra downtown and hop on the CTA for much cheaper. You can park at many locations (some even free), and hop on the CTA and get to the game for little cost. Why drop $40, when there are multiple options to get you there quicker and much cheaper?
How can you not understand that it's convenient to be able to park and walk to the game?

I'm sorry you don't understand the benefits of public transportation in highly populated areas.

What is the benefit? It took me twice as long, even in rush hour, to take the train to the Cell than it did to drive. If it wasn't rush hour, it was 3 times as long. That was a good thing. Also, the trains stopped running so early that if I missed the last train I was screwed.

Public transportation isn't convenient for a lot of people. I fail to see how having more options to get to a game is a bad thing.

I'm gonna take a stand here: both stadiums are in the same city, therefore I believe strongly that they have the same number of options for people trying to get to them.

Does the Cubs organization provide general parking? I know the White Sox do.

The Cell is much easier to drive to than Wrigley. Columbus Ave to Western, Western to Pershing, Pershing to Princeton (or the alley up against the tracks) and into the parking lots. 30 minutes, tops during rush hour. 20 minutes during the weekends. Yeah you pay to park, but bring a grill and BYOB, watch a game, catch a fireworks show. #winning

There are also a number of places in the burbs where you can take a Pace bus for like $3 each way, Drops you off right in front of the park and leaves 1/2 hour after the game ends.

But then you have to watch Koskue Fukudome and Adam Dunn #losing

Well I'd rather that than sit in 90 minutes worth of traffic, pay $40 to park, and watch Soriano and David DeJesus attempt to catch flyballs.

I get to the Cubs game 99% of the time by car. I park there. Sometimes in a Cubs owned lot, sometimes not.

See douchebag. spanky agrees with me that having parking is a thing worth having.

Are you in the season ticket passes section or in the general parking section spanky? If I buy a ticket for the Cubs on stubhub can I show up and park in a Cubs lot?

Yeah that sounds awful. That's why I would take the CTA to the game to watch Jorge Soler and Brett Jackson catch flyballs.

Please don't list fireworks as a perk.

You lose. The owner of the parking lot doesn't change the number of options for getting to that stadium. Which is what the statement was.

We could argue about the number of transfers needed on public trans too, but in the end it would still be an option for getting to each stadium.

Of course it does, as does having a general parking lot available that doesn't require a prepurchased pass. I understand that there are literally parking spaces within walking distance of Wrigley Field. However, if I buy a ticket on stubhub for a Saturday game I don't think I can consider driving to Wrigley Field and parking there an option. I can easily do that for US Cellular.

If you get there early enough you can just go north of Irving Park or West of Ashland and street park.

That's strange..............since literally hundreds of people do that each day.

Oh well. I also am going to take another stand: depending on which team a person is a fan of, that person is more likely to go to that stadium than the other one to see a game.

You could just forget all of the aggrivation and go to a game here

Never been to that one. Been to Joliet and Kane County a few times. Minor league baseball really is a lot of fun, and most teams have newer stadiums which helps.

When I am choosing between a game at Joliet or Kane County, I often look on the internet to see which place has the better parking lots.

The Lake County Fielders statdium in Zion is in the parking lot of a CVS

Wow. Hundreds of parking spaces! How stupid I was to think that parking at Wrigley wasn't a realistic option for most people. They can literally fit hundreds of cars for a stadium of over 35,000 people!

Better attendance than a Sox game at least

Something has happened to your reading comprehension today. Something bad. I never said anything about hundreds of spaces - I said hundreds of people do exactly what you said you could not do - buy a ticket on a game day and drive to the game and park.

The irony of this post and a "failure to comprehend" is pretty cool too.

You win spanky. Driving to Wrigley and parking and walking to the game is an easy option. Now go tell douchebag that he was wrong for saying that it sucks to do.
