D'Antoni is looking bad for not playing the guy. With the number of stiffs on the Knicks roster it's a shame they were thinking of bringing in Mike James and after that Rick James.

Just got to hear an ESPN hack say that Miami and Chicago should be afraid of the Knicks that with Lin now they are the favorites in the East.

Really? The kid is playing really well, but they are not even close to the favorites in the East. Scoring points has never been their problems. Until they learn to play defense they are never going to be a factor in the East.

Yeah it'd be nice to see then beat a top 10 team with Lin first. I still think their ceiling is beating a team like Boston, Atlanta, or Orlando in a 4-5 or 3-6 matchup and then getting waxed by Miami or Chicago in the 2nd round. I think Miami, Chicago, Indiana, and Philly are still clearly better.

right, it's important to have some perspective. as much as I like Minnesota they are not an elite team and it took a huge comeback by the Knicks to win that game as well as an awful Raptor team

plus there's still the big issue of how Anthony will fit in and gel w/ the team upon his return.

On the other hand, if the Knicks can somehow get Eric Gordon next season.... Watch out.

I like the feel good story and hope it lasts. I couldn't believe the NBA channel had the blow-out Heat game, and Directv/NBA had the Knicks game blocked on the NY station. Alas, this probably won't last.

Lin has already beaten Melo. It's over. This is A-Rod vs. Jeter. Even if Melo is the better player it won't matter. Melo will have to coexist with Lin, or even defer to him until Lin either gets exposed as a fluke or keeps it up.

I bought tickets for Bulls vs. Knicks in April, and the price of my seats have gone up $100 in the last week.

That's why I bought Knicks tickets this morning. I was actually surprised that there were 200 level seats available got $55 each. Considering Dallas sells out most games against decent teams and/or star players I don't think tickets for that game will be around much longer

I think it's fair to believe Melo will fuck up the situation but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he will. There's enough shots for the both of them and theoretically the pick n pop game with Lin could be extremely tough to stop.

Even Jordan learned to defer in certain situations.

Maybe his ego has inflated beyond repair by now but I think his 2003 Tourney run showed that he at least has it in him.

In college one player can do that one on one stuff if he's good enough (which Melo was). Doesnt work in the pros.

I know he scored a lot of points but I also remember him deferring to McNamara in the title game and playing within a system on both ends of the court. I might be misremembering though.

I think with the right coach and mindset he can be the man on a championship team. He's a proven clutch performer, one of the three best all around scorers in the league, and does have more to his game than just scoring. I don't think D'Antoni is the right coach for him at all.
