Pitchers and Catchers report for the Cubs tomorrow so I am starting a thread full of reasons to be optimistic about the 2012 Cubs. Off the top of my head

-No more Mike Quade. If Dale Sveum is even marginally competant thats 5 wins right there. Quade was a hairless moron.

-No more meltdowns and distractions from Big Z. As much as I loved the guy when he was on he was off way too often the past several years. Let Ozzie worry about that nonsense

-Prince and Pujols are gone. The best first baseman in the division may very well be LaHair.

-Koyie Hill signed with the Cardinals

Feel free to add more as you all see fit

I can not wait for the MVP campaign to begin. He will put up the best power numbers in the division assuming Braun's suspension sticks.

Third best team in the division. Second best team in town. Don't worry, the Bears start back up in August.

Rape Smack

Id say that constitutes the Bell toll for CSFMB Cubs vs Sox 2012

I'm very interested to see what the Cubs can make of all the "prospects" they traded for.

Fuck it.... I cant fight it anymore. Meatball power activate!!!!!!!!

This division is going to suck shit this year. Why can't the Cubs go on a bit of crazy run sometime during the season and stay in contention. The pitching should be OK. You might get a hot streak from Soriano at some point.

Damn you Phil....

Cubs win NL Central in 2012!!!!! Lose to the Phillies in the NLCS after upsetting the Braves in NLDS.

I hate all of you.

I predict there could be a bit of the Major League movie comparison to the upcoming Cubs season. Not the players or characters...or even the plot about owner wanting to sell or whatever the hell it was. More so that the Cubs could find themselves in "contention" at the trade deadline....and Theo and company will be looking beyond this season and wanting to trade guys like Garcia...Dempster (hopefully if he'd go)....and so on. It'd be tough for them to justify trades like that if they were still in the divisional race. I think Theo's balls are big enough that he will do whatever he wants to do, no matter what the circumstances are. That could be interesting.

Go Cubs!

You'll find out this year on the south side.

Travis is probably going to strike out 20+ 3 times THIS season. So I will go with him.
