Should we post Dunn's, Rios', and Peavy's salaries?

Fukudome career WAR: 8.8

Beckham career WAR: 1.9

Fukudome is clearly 4 times the player

Werent there fewer games back then?

edit: The Chicago White Sox scored only 463 runs during the regular season and were shut out a league-high 23 times. Both those totals are still all-time records in the era of the 162-game season.

Once again "THE DWARF" only tells part of the story

Fukudome signed a $500,000 one year contract with a team option of either an additional $500,000 buyout or a 2013 deal of $3,500,000. He had NO offers anywhere and still has a home here so he may have given the Sox a home town discount

While this is still a good deal for a 4th outfielder (my guess is he will get mope playing time by seasons end then Alejandro de Aza. This was the only money that Kenny Williams spent on free agents this entire off season and they were the last team to spend any money on free agents. Combine that with the consensus WORST farm system in baseball, the loss of Buerhle, Quenten, Santos and Jason Frasor with NOTHING of immediate help coming in return PLUS the FACE of the franchise is now in Miami and he was replaced with a part time high school assistant coach and that kind of sums up the Southsiders "HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL"

I have no optimism. While I fully realize that the division has lost offense, so have the Cubs with the loss of Ramirez. Reds, Cards and Brewers will likely beat them often. Cubs need pitching. Until then, I see nothing good coming.

the optimism comes with the departure of jim hendry and ricketts backing away so theo runs things.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo

No one claimed Dewitt off waivers and there is a good chance he will return as a non roster player with a chance to win a spot on the opening day roster.
