Wrong. I was the person that said he needed to not be on every show. I said it would get old really quick if he's out there twice a week, three times on PPV. They hadn't found much substance yet, but it was still awesome. I did not want him stuck in a large box, if you'll pardon the expression, and shipped to Florida. RFDC too extremey.

Exactly. Also throw in the fact that on Smackdown, they would replay his Raw match too, so count that and the lack of any angle or storyline and we're allowed to bitch. The fact that almost everyday I walk around in public singing somebody call me momma has go to be a good thing.

Former Ring of Honor star and one half of the "Kings of Wrestling", Chris Hero (real name: Chris Spradlin) has officially been given his new WWE name: Kassius Ohno. "Kassius" is working in WWE's official developmental promotion, Florida Championship Wrestling, and was signed to a contract shortly after fellow "King" Claudio Castagnoli, who is wrestling under the FCW name of Antonio Cesaro. Wrestlezone's Justin LaBar reported a while back that several FCW talents have been saying the WWE has no intentions of using the "Kings" as a tag team, but as is usual in the WWE, plans can always change.

For both Kassius Ohno and Antonio Cesaro's official FCW profiles, visit FCWwrestling.com!

These names. Where do they get these names?

I'm hopeful that the E plans to team them up.

Is Ohno a Swiss name? Maybe they'll be the new Rogeau Brothers!

-- The last WWE Divas main event on Raw is featured on this week's episode of WWE Vintage Collection: a WWE Women's Championship Match between Trish Stratus and Lita from December 6, 2004. Other matches featured include Dusty Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and Virgil (WWF Live Event - November 24, 1990), The Midnight Express vs. The Rock 'n' Roll Express (WCW Worldwide - July 11, 1987), Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels in a Steel Cage Match (WWF television taping - December 1, 1993).

-- Jerry "The King" Lawler appears for Mid South Championship Wrestling on March 3, 2012 at the Charles Strong Recreation Center in Luxora, Arkansas.

-- CM Punk will appear at Elimination Chamber with a modified look as he was clean-shaven for media appearances Friday promoting the pay-per-view event. The WWE Champion appeared on Real Milwaukee and was asked why he no longer has any facial hair.

"I haven't been this clean-shaven in like a decade. I did it when I got home, I think Tuesday, and I really don't have an explanation for you," he tells the program hosts.

Punk also talks about the origins of his ring name, his straight-edge lifestyle, his finishing maneuver and more. The video interview is available here.

Beth Phoenix Discusses Her WrestleMania Match, Facing Tamina Snuka & More
By Marc Middleton
Feb 18, 2012 - 9:13:48 AM

- WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix recently spoke with The Miami Herald to hype the Road to WrestleMania 28. Here are a few highlights:

The Pin-Up Strong movement:
"I think that in combination with living a healthy lifestyle and really presenting a good role model for women is kind of what ‘Pin-Up Strong’ encompasses. It’s basically just words that I wanted to put out there for young women to identify themselves with. I wanted to show them that women of all shapes and sizes can be beautiful and powerful and set a good, classy example. You can find more out of your life, find success and be classy at the same time."

Her Elimination Chamber match against Tamina Snuka:
"I’ve been so excited. Everybody has been listening to me blab forever about working Tamina. I get to work with Natalya all the time, who is third generation, but now we have the daughter of Superfly Jimmy Snuka. She is the real deal. She definitely has that flavor and incredible athletic ability that is second to no one else."

"She is very special and very physical, which I look forward to a girl who can go and really bring it. Someone who can hit as hard as I hit, and we can go toe-to-toe, and it’s a challenge. She has really been waiting for an opportunity like this. I think she has been in the company for maybe three years and really been pushed to the forefront for this opportunity."

"I really see her shining week after week. I’m really looking forward to our match. There is not only going to be a great diva’s match with a great amount of physicality, but you are going to have that nostalgia behind it. I certainly grew up watching her father and admiring everything he has done. I’ve done my share of studying Roddy Piper’s strategies. So I’m looking forward to putting some of that in the match. I think you are going to have a good match at the Elimination Chamber."

WrestleMania 28:
"It’s hard to pick [an opponent]. I would even like to go one-on-one with Natalya at some point. We have that ‘who is better’ mentality that we haven’t been really able to explore yet. Kharma is an ideal opponent. I’ve seen so many fans who have said that it’s the match they want to see. They would like to see these two titans who have never crossed paths kind of mix it up. Then there is Trish [Stratus]. We’ve met before in tag matches, but we come from two different eras. We have never had a singles encounter. That would bring something entirely different to the table."

"Alundra Blayze has come from another different era. She was literally one of the females who inspired me to do this. So that’s a really controversial match because of the way she left the WWF. She has kind of been this notorious figure toward the beginning of the Attitude era. So it’s interesting to see all of those options."

"Do I have a favorite opponent out of those? No. Bring it all on. Whoever it is, I will know the opportunity to have a WrestleMania match would be spectacular. It would be the highlight of my career."

The full interview can be read here.

Former ROH/independent star Chris Hero has changed his Twitter account to his new WWE developmental name of "Kassius Ohno" and introduced a "KO!" logo to promote his new initials. Hero, who stressed his Knockout (KO) offense on the independents, suggested he will be at Friday's FCW developmental show in Florida. "FCW show in Eustis, FL tonight. I guess @TrueKofi is gonna be there. Someone should prolly tell him I'm not fond of the last name Kingston," Hero tweeted, referring to his long-time independent feud with Eddie Kingston.

I missed Bill Simmons actually being funny a couple of days ago:
Quote:
Q: Is Jeremy Lin the NBA's equivalent of CM Punk in the WWE this past summer?
— Billy M., Blacksburg, Va.

SG: Does this mean Carmelo is going to be Triple H — the egotistical, overrated star who couldn't handle that something good was happening without him, so he interjected himself into the storyline and ended up throwing a wet blanket on all the momentum? I sure hope not. That reminds me …

By Marc Middleton
Feb 20, 2012 - 8:15:34 AM

"Listen, playas. I'm not going anywhere. And if @WWERawGM thinks any differently then he truly is as clueless as he looks. #Chamber"

William Regal replied:

"@GMSmackDown @WWERawGM Perhaps it's time for me to take over from both of you.I'm better than both of you and far more better dressed.#over"

- In the UK, WWE edited out Randy Orton's botched RKO on Big Show from last Monday's RAW replays.

- WWE's Aksana and Hornswoggle will be appearing at the Columbus Blue Jackets vs. St. Louis Blues game on March 11th at 6pm from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Sheamus on Why He Chose Bryan, Backstage News on Undertaker & CM Punk, More
By Marc Middleton
Feb 20, 2012 - 8:53:51 AM

- WWE referee Scott Armstrong and agent Bill DeMott also praised Tamina Snuka and Beth Phoenix for their Divas Title match at Elimination Chamber. Armstrong later tweeted that DeMott was pulled over by a Wisconsin State Trooper but was let off without getting a ticket.

- There is speculation backstage that The Undertaker will show up either bald or with some kind of altered appearance on tonight's RAW Supershow.

- WWE's website posted a video interview with Sheamus after last night's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Sheamus says he chose to face World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 28 because he's already been a two-time WWE Champion and the next step is to become World Heavyweight Champion. Sheamus guarantees he will leave WrestleMania as the new champion.

- Going into this weekend's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, WWE officials weren't sure if they would have CM Punk retain the WWE Title or not. The decision was made sometime this weekend to have Punk win the match.

Former WWE Diva Trish Stratus teased a possible WrestleMania match with current Divas champion Beth Phoenix in an interview with Sports Vibe in the U.K. "Beth was saying that she was the most dominant champion, so I thought I would just let her know that title is already taken," Stratus said about her ongoing Twitter exchanges with Beth. "As for a match between Beth and myself at WrestleMania that is an excellent proposition and I think the fans would love that. I've actually had the opportunity to tangle up with Beth Phoenix a couple of times and I think that she is amazing in the ring and I would love to kick her ass actually."

Batista not returning to WWE until change is made; turned down "Tough Enough?"

By James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista discussed his post-WWE career with the U.K. Sun . Bautista reiterated what he's said since leaving WWE in 2010 that he left because he disagreed with the PG direction. He said WWE TV would have to change for him to return... Bautista claimed he was offered a Tough Enough role, but said, "I need to be excited by a project and I didn't feel that way about Tough Enough." ... If Bautista did return to WWE, "it would be for a run not just a one-shot deal" and he would like to work with Triple H or Undertaker ... Bautista would not return to pro wrestling for a promotion other than WWE. "If I go out, I go out on top and working for the company on top," he said.

Former WWE Talent Jay Bradley Critical Of Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis
By Daniel Pena
Feb 17, 2012 - 6:27:24 PM

Jay Bradley, who briefly competed as Ryan Braddock on SmackDown in 2008 and 2009, spoke with Steven Muehlhausen of SportsTownChicago.com about his time with WWE.

On WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, Bradley said, "John is a master politician. He is a very good, cunning businessman. He runs WWE like it's his company. Which I think is why Vince has him around for so long. Because he's good at what he does. He takes the heat off of Vince. I couldn't answer what he's doing on TV, but if he's playing a bit of a jerk, yeah its probably close."

Bradley was also asked what WWE needs to do to recapture a "boom period."

"Blow up Vince McMahon's jet with him in it," he laughingly says. "The whole upper echelon of WWE, which pretty much dictates this industry, needs to go."

The former WWE Superstar also discusses joining Chicago based promotion Resistance Pro Wrestling. The entire interview is available here.

Anonymous WWE Star Rants On Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
By Daniel Pena
Feb 21, 2012 - 1:07:12 AM

With The Rock making his much anticipated return to Raw next Monday, John Cena had harsh words for "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment" on this week's show, saying he's no longer The People's Champion, but he's a champion with people (referring to the entourage around him). After strongly criticizing The Rock for returning, but not sticking around WWE, Cena vowed to beat the iconic grappler in his hometown of Miami, Florida at WrestleMania XXVIII.

A number of WWE performers appeared giddy backstage over Cena's remarks as they legitimately feel that way over the actor/wrestler. One talent commented via text to PWInsider.com (with permission to be quoted under the condition of anonymity): "[The Rock] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one.

"He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight.

"Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their asses off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."

Per DM, anonymous WWE Star is Punk and his feelings are shared by most in the locker room.

Don't understand why he'd be "anonymous".

He's made it known in interviews how he feels about Rock.

What's funny about that quote is that when Rock inevitably does the job at Wrestlemania, he'll have put over one more younger guy than Triple H and the Undertaker have for the entire past year.

Where John Laurinaitis/Theodore Long Feud Is Headed, Otunga Against Bullying
By Daniel Pena
Feb 22, 2012 - 8:39:42 PM

-- WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager of Raw John Laurinaitis's campaign to not only become the permanent Raw General Manager, but take over Theodore Long's job as General Manager of SmackDown is expected to culminate with a winner takes all match at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami, Florida.

The Wrestling Observer reports that a Laurinaitis captained team of heel WWE stars will likely face a babyface team captained by Long at the pay-per-view extravaganza with the winning captain becoming General Manager of both Raw and SmackDown. There is also talk that the bout would replace the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Brodus Clay Labeled "Unsafe and Reckless", WWE Looking At Digital Publishing
By Daniel Pena
Feb 22, 2012 - 6:47:02 PM

-- It was reported last week that Brodus Clay was removed from television due to Vince McMahon's unhappiness with the voluminous grappler's ring work. To add further detail, the WWE head believes he's unsafe and reckless in the ring; he doesn't want him competing until his ring work is brought up to par.

Eyebrows were raised backstage about McMahon pushing forth talent safety since Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes competed on this week's Raw SuperShow hurt.

Clay dismissed last week's negative report via Twitter, writing, "Don't believe the hater hype plant funk still in orbit ya dig!"

-- Vince McMahon is looking to tap into digital publishing as he feels it could be a major revenue stream for WWE as early as this year. His belief is based on what colleagues have told him about the Amazon Kindle, an e-book reader.

Why Kharma Has Yet To Return To The Ring, Ron Simmons' WWE HOF Inductor
By Daniel Pena
Feb 22, 2012 - 5:59:21 PM

-- John "Bradshaw" Layfield inducting Ron Simmons into the WWE Hall of Fame is not official but it is the planned idea.

Layfield wrote Tuesday on Facebook in regards to inducting his longtime tag team partner, "As far as who is inducting Ron into the HOF-I would consider one of my greatest lifetime honors if I am chosen. However, it hasn't been announced-SO, if I knew who was I couldn't say. And, if I don't know I couldn't say either obviously. So, I wait on the announcement like everyone else."

-- The January 17, 2012 WWE SmackDown taping at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada drew 5,287 paying $214,735.

-- WWE has not followed up on Kharma's appearance last month at the Royal Rumble because she hasn't fully recovered from giving birth on December 31, 2011 and isn't ready to work a full-time schedule. She competed in the Rumble Match because creative felt it would create a good story since it wasn't expected.

WWE Officials Reportedly Negative On Rey Mysterio, Rating For Monday's Raw
By Daniel Pena
Feb 22, 2012 - 7:23:39 PM

-- The February 20 Raw SuperShow garnered a 3.24 cable rating, up from 2.99 the week before. The February 6 show drew a 3.25.

Raw averaged 4.63 million viewers, nearly identical to an average of 4.62 million on Feb. 6. The program averaged 4.66 million viewers in the first hour and declined to 4.59 million in the second.

-- Jerry Lawler will face Tommy Dreamer on March 16 in Nashville, Tennessee at 1056 East Trinity Lane. The show also features a match between Doug Gilbert and Larry Zbyszko.

-- Following Rey Mysterio's visit backstage at last week's Raw SuperShow in San Diego, California, any mention of his name to WWE brass reportedly resulted in a very negative speech. There has been underlying friction on management's part due to tough contract negotiations and not returning from injuries as early as they'd like. Also, some feel because of his small stature, he's lucky to be employed to WWE.

-- Former WWE Divas Melina and Jillian have been announced to appear on Lucha Libre USA's "Masked Warriors Live" tour in late March. -- Former WWE talent Shawn Daivari was the booker of the February 4 WWFX Champion Showcase Tour 2012 event in Manila, Philippines. No return date has been announced but he stated during an interview that the show was considered a success and a return would take place.

-- WWE officials have talked lately of cutting and/or repackaging bottom level WWE Superstars and developmental talent. However, moves are not expected until after WrestleMania as it is their prime focus.

WWE Officials Against Divas Match At WrestleMania, Eve Torres 'Explains' Herself
By Daniel Pena
Feb 22, 2012 - 9:32:50 PM

-- A match involving the WWE Divas is expected to take place at WrestleMania XXVIII although some company officials are against utilizing the women for the sake of it since the affair would take away time from the bouts people are most interested in seeing.

It's also been suggested as the pre-show dark match.

-- The February 18, 2012 episode of A.M. Raw scored a 0.64 cable rating with 755,000 viewers.

-- In light of her actions involving John Cena and Zack Ryder on Monday's Raw SuperShow, Eve addressed fans during an unaired segment at last night's SuperSmackDown LIVE! show. The two-time WWE Divas Champion described herself as a "woman of class" and that she does not deserve the angry reaction she has been receiving. Eve admitted to using Ryder but that she is no different than everybody else.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Responds To His Critics In The WWE Locker Room
By Daniel Pena
Feb 23, 2012 - 5:50:19 PM

Numerous WWE workers were giddy backstage over John Cena's pseudo-shoot tirade toward Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on Monday's Raw SuperShow since many share similar real-life sentiments. Those disgruntled are upset with Johnson being prominently featured at WrestleMania XXVIII since he is not a full-time performer and is taking away a prime spot that could be used to elevate an up-and-comer.

Based on claims of Johnson having "heat" within WWE circles, a Twitter user asked the actor/wrestler, "Haters claim you're keeping them from wrestling at 'Mania and they can't get over. Why couldn't they get over when you were gone?"

Johnson, who is well aware of his critics backstage, responded Wednesday night, "The ones who are complaining are the ones who will never get over anyway, Too busy complaining."

Following Monday's Raw in Minneapolis, Minnesota, one such WWE worker aired out his grievances toward Johnson via text to PWInsider.com (with permission to be quoted under the condition of anonymity): "[Johnson] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then?

FCW Spoilers: Kassius Ohno's Gimmick, Details on Major Heavyweight Title Change
By Marc Middleton
Feb 25, 2012 - 7:25:32 AM

- This past Thursday's Florida Championship Wrestling TV tapings saw two title changes.

For the March 11th episode, Leo Kruger defeated FCW Florida Champion Mike Dalton with a sleeper to become the new Heavyweight Champion. Dalton just defeated Kruger for the title at the last set of tapings.

Kruger's title reign didn't last long as Seth Rollins became the new Heavyweight Champion at the tapings that will air on March 25th. Rollins won an Eight Man Scramble match earlier in the night to earn the title shot. Rollins won the title from Kruger with his God's Last Gift move.

In other spoiler news from the tapings, Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) cut a promo on the March 11th show and said he doesn't plan on being in FCW long. Ohno talked about how he enjoys knocking out his opponents. Ohno made his in-ring TV debut at the March 18th tapings, knocking out Xavier Woods with an elbow.

The Rock Says Many Wrestlers Don't Understand The "Business"
By Daniel Pena
Feb 25, 2012 - 1:37:34 PM

Online reports have indicated that there are a number of disgruntled wrestlers within the WWE locker room upset with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stealing the spotlight at WrestleMania XXVIII since he is not a full-time performer. Former WWE talent Shane Helms (a/k/a The Hurricane) added his two cents on the matter via Twitter and said those people should quit complaining.

"FTR, anybody in the WWE locker room that is bitching about The Rock's involvement in WrestleMania needs to stop being a douche! He's earned it!" the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion wrote Friday. "WrestleMania has always had celebrity involvement and if the the celebrity this year happens to actually be a GREAT pro wrestler, it's a win!!"

Fellow former WWE star Lance Storm, who earlier said Johnson's detractors should "shut up," added, "If the dude will draw more money, he deserves the spot. Absolutely. And he WILL draw more money, end of story."

Johnson caught wind of their statements Saturday morning. He wrote to them: "Incredible to me how many of the boys don't get the "business" part of our business."

I'm going to write a book on here about the people complaining about The Rock coming back. I don't care if it's my guy Punk, they're dead wrong and should be quiet.

PWTORCH ROUNDTABLE: What would be the outcome of a Rock-Cena Best-of-Three?, PWTorch contributors start with winner at WM28

Feb 26, 2012 - 1:04:00 PM

PWTorch Specialist Roundtable Question: Hypothetically, if The Rock and John Cena were to have a Best-of-Three Series, how would the series play out? Who wins the first match in the series at WrestleMania 28?

Nathan Kyght, PWTorch PPV specialist

Obviously, if the scenario is a "one and done," then I think the right move for business would be John Cena winning at WrestleMania. A non-finish would be too anti-climactic for the main event of Mania, and The Rock going over, while certainly being the move that pops the crowd in Miami, is not good in the long run. It would send the wrong message if their top star loses, yet the guy who beat him doesn't stick around full-time.

However, if indeed WWE decided to go with a three-match series, I'm all for The Rock getting his hand raised to close out "The Show of Shows." It's WrestleMania. It's undoubtedly the biggest show of the wrestling year, and it has always been about the proverbial "WrestleMania Moment." In front of what I'm sure will be a rabid Miami crowd, one of the all-time stars of the business getting the clean win and sending the crowd home happy would be a truly awesome spectacle.

No matter how the company decides to play it out, though, I can't see any logic whatsoever to Cena not getting the best of The Rock in the series. As I said, Rock is maybe going to be around a handful of times a year; business-wise it's pointless to have him show up, beat the full-time wrestlers, and leave. The Rock should be an attraction, not a guy who is perceived as better than the roster and is trying to get people to watch the shows and buy the pay-per-views on a weekly basis. (Read Kyght's PPV Evaluation column after each major PPV.)

Matt Baxendell, PWTorch contributor

If the plan is for a Rock-Cena trifecta, then The Rock has to win in Miami. That would allow Cena to turn into a full-fledged heel running roughshod over WWE in anger at his loss until Summerslam, where Rock rides in as the savior. But, Cena would get the win there, too, and any heel character would take off for having beaten the most popular in-ring performer today. People would REALLY hate him, then.

That brings it full circle to WM29 for Rock to get his redemption. If done right, this could create a game-changing heel character for Cena and shake things up more than Punk did last summer. But, of course, Vince won't want to give up the t-shirt revenue, so what I just wrote will never happen. (Baxendell regularly contributes to TNA coverage.)

Jon Mezzera, PWTorch Hits & Misses specialist

God forbid! I really hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that by the time we get to WrestleMania 28, we will be glad that the feud will finally be over. To have it go best-of-three doesn't sound like a good idea to me. But, if that is the plan, then The Rock should definitely win the first match. It makes sense to have him win in Miami to send the fans home happy and have a satisfying ending for the PPV buyers out there, a majority of whom presumably will be rooting for Rock.

There is potential for an interesting angle coming out of WrestleMania if Cena loses. What will that do to him? How will it effect his career? Will it play into Kane's attempts to have him embrace the hate? Cena would obviously have to win a re-match, so the question then becomes who wins the final match? In a one-and-done situation, the current star should really win, and I would say the same for the rubber match of a best-of-three series, so Cena needs to win in the end. (Read Mezzera's regular Hits & Misses column after each Raw and Smackdown episode.)

Anthony Beckingham, PWTorch reviewer

Ever since The Rock and John Cena shook hands on a WrestleMania match almost a year ago now, I have been trying to work out how WWE is going to get themselves out of one of the worst cases of "booking yourself into a corner" since they booked John Cena to defend the WWE Title against Rob Van Dam in the Hammerstein Ballroom.

On one hand, WWE has their full-time babyface versus a returning legend, which makes it obvious that the full-timer should win, as he needs more of a rub. On the other hand, it's in the returning legend's hometown mixed with the kind of passionate fans who are going to fly around the world and pay ridiculous sums of money to see the show. I went to see Mick Foley's stand-up show in London this weekend and talked to a few of the people who are willing to pay thousands of pounds to see said show and, let me assure you, they are not Cena fans. I genuinely don't know which way WWE goes with that, especially if it's the last show of the evening.

So, if they can turn this into a three-match series, suddenly the trouble is wiped away by having Rock win the first one and then Cena go onto win the next and probably the third. That is the way you'd have to do it. But, this could be a dangerous road to travel down as 2011 was one of the worst years for Raw and a lot of it is due to John Cena having no sense of seriousness or urgency because he knew and we knew that everything was filler until this match. I don't know if I can take another year of that. (Read Beckingham's regular Shimmer DVD reviews.)

Check back for Part 2 later today.

Regardless how you feel in this issue - Meltzer comes off as a complete Rock ass kiss right there. And his story about guys sitting at dinner not knowing the house is 100% bullshit. "i'm not saying..." fuck you Meltzer you are saying.
