I will be there once I get done with work. Only 6 stops and I start at the ass crack of dawn, so 11 or 12 is a pretty good guess.

The Bears select at 31.

The draft starts at 11AM.

Teams have 15 minutes per pick.

So my quick math indicates, unless there's ANY trade, and if the Bears do NOT trade down, they'll be picking right around 6:30 - 6:45PM.

Oh the stories...

We had about a dozen or so people there to watch the draft - largest table at the place.

Sights seen:

Slapshot Ed with a Raiders, Lions and Browns helmet.

Doug from Evergreen Park knocking down the picks. Predicting them one after the other.

Mad Max announcing the picks wearing the Raiders and Lions helmets. He refused to put on the Browns helmet because they don't make any sense. They're FRICKIN orange, and their the Browns as he reminds me.

Slapshot picking his Red Wings shorts up from the ground after young Max depantsed him.

Sounds heard:

Laughter at Brady Quinn every time he was seen, especially when the Dolphins bypassed him.

Stories of defacation in one's pants, not to mention in bodies of water.

A good time was had by all, but the CSFMB attendance was a bit lacking.

Grid, I would love to have met such luminaries as Yourselves, Doug and Slappy. But, the 3 hour trip was too long for a day of drinking.
Sounds like a good time was had and we got a tight-end.

A good time and it was great to see Doug and Grid and my buddies from North Dakota State U. had a great time as well .

And Yes , Harry and I now have the same distinction of having our pants pulled down by mad Max. I can see Grid visiting the kid in Juvi very soon ..Little shit.

Grid was actually going to pay the kid $20 bucks to crawl under the stahl and steal my underware and shorts if nature happened to be calling when I went into the bathroom .

I didn't get a group picture.... but here are some pictures I took:

Mad Max watching the Raiders pick, and his reaction. If you look carefully, you can see the Packer lovin' Slapshot Ed in the background describing how he pulled a forearm muscle jerking off:

Max's reaction to the Raiders pick:

And Max watching Matt Millen take his FOURTH WR in Round One, in the last five years:

And Doug from Evergreen Park wondering what he'd look like as a Lion:

not a bad photog, if i may say...
pre blood-shot eyes.

good times had by all involved. met some cool cats at realtimesports.
nice joint too.
cheap imports...lots of space.
hottie waitri!!!
max was on fire too. my hand still hurts from the boxing punching-bag game.

next year kids, we need to take over that place.... 8)

Grid, i wasn't that great on my picks. you give me too much credit. 9 for 24 isn't fantastic. picking Quinn 4 out of 25 isn't either... :)
but i did have a few of the weird ones. so, thanks.

Pictures can't do it justice NITB.
It's something you need to see face to face, so to speak.

So, what the hell guys? I show up yesterday for Day 2 and I am a party of one. In fact, they hadn't even opened the doors at 10am when I showed up, in full Bears regalia, ready for Day 2.

When someone finally showed up to open the place, I asked them, "What gives? The draft is today."

The guy tells me, "The draft was yesterday."

I think my look said it all when I told him, "Dude, Saturday is when fortunes are won...Sunday is when Championships are won."

He gave me a look that you sometimes see when someone realizes a universal truth. My suspicion was confirmed as he muttered, "Idiot", to himself as he walked away. I felt he was being too hard on himself.

Oh, the stories...not to be outdone by Grid and his crew...

We had about one or so person there to watch the draft. Smallest table at the place.

The laughter from me everytime ND cornerback Mike Richardson wasn't chosen.

The looks from people in the place, again, I could only take to mean that they wished they could join my party.

Again, not to be outdone, upon the Bears final pick, I ceremoniously depantsed myself, with hysterical laughter from my party (of one).

At that point, the manager came back and asked me the first intelligent question he'd asked that day, "Are you disturbed?"

I said, "Hell yes, I'm disturbed. I'm disturbed that you would put the draft on this tiny TV in the corner on a day when franchises are made. I'm very disturbed."

I am still considering whether I will be there for the indoor soccer league draft.
